I have no idea how to even find out?

I've heard by someone (I'm guessing Squirrelsnuts) that the game engine wasn't made for MP Gaming. I can certainly believe this because the game is far from running smooth even on singleplayer and considering it's rather low image fidelity.

I can't help but compare this game to ArmA2 a lot simply because of the way vegetation is handled as you approach it. I think ETS2 does it better as it doesn't pop in as abruptly but overall it performs very similar in every other respect (at least to my eyes).

...and ArmA 2 didn't run overly smoothly on anyone's machine. Online you could see warping of both players and AI so I'd expect to see the same or worse from SCS as ArmA 2 is designed to be played online.

However, an online aspect maybe (hopefully) introduces the possibility of Coop with a locally hosted Server Side Client running on a local Windows based machine. Assuming you can run server files independently of your Steam ID like you can in Team Fortress 2, it could be very viable for a few friends to drive together and have a reasonably smooth experience.

I wouldn't expect too much from it gameplaywise (yet). I'd sooner compare it to the online mod you had for GTA San Andreas. They have to really make everything work seperately, upto making the mirrors functional again so you can see other players in them. As far as I know it's spawning a truck and a trailer manually and just driving around.
Of all the footage I've seen there's no stuff like doing proper jobs or running for a company. I've only seen people drive around with eachother in a ETS2 world void of any traffic. It's really alpha stage. And it only works for the steam version of the game btw.
I've seen the files (I actually got an old version), and it's just a client and a server exe, both pretty small too.

Just put it in the modfolder and activate it in your existing Hungary profile and it will overwrite the old economy model :)

ETS2 updated to 1.11!

Unfortunately it broke some prefabs on custom maps (prefabs are custom road connections), but most prefab makers have updated their prefabs already, meaning you will need to update most custom maps for them to work in 1.11.

It almost slipped by me, but the guys from SCS actually released some more DLC.
Finally some heavy duty loads, 7 of m, with a fitting truck customization adding some striped paint job indicating you're pulling something special.

If it's worth the €4,49 while there's free mod packs with hundreds of custom loads about I'll leave up to you, but at least with these you can be sure to fit under low overpasses by the looks of it. And it gives good hope that the upcoming American Truck Simulator might be starting off with some decent variety of loads...

1. Havent found anything decent tbh. The stuff I tried added all kinds of bloom etc, but perhaps duke can point you in teh right direction.
However, I'm using a mod that gets rid of the (visiblepart of) the dead end road barriers, download here: http://ulozto.sk/xzqwuLNf/optical-clearing-barriers-for-ets2-1-5-2-rar (press the yellow button, then fill in captcha in the centre)

2. This often is an integral part of a map mod, but also some trailerpacks will add custom trailers to trucks, so check there. I'm sure there are traffic packs too, but never used them so you'll have to google :p

3. Using a bunch of those: (all stand alone so not replacing existing stuff)

4. Was using a physics mod, but in the 2 latest updates of ETS the physics changed, so my physics mods stopped working, use google, but be prepared for mods out there crashing your game ;) trisal and error it will be.

Latest version of Trucksim map (TSM) is also advisable (use google :p)

6. This has been fixed by the latest update, but you need to go into the sound options because it is set really low by default. (it has a slider now)

7. On hungary standalone it is part of the mapmod, google might help you for the rest out there

8. not using any, I know there is a proper snow (texture) outthere, but I don't think it changes physics (not slippery). Be carefull with installing rain mod, it doesn't like custom maps, nor some other mods.

Please note that when installing custom trailers, it will take a while for them to show up in jobs, as the current jobs need to run out before new jobs(with possibly new trailers) become available, so don't think the mod doesn't work. Don't forget to edit your profile to activate the mods! Also, if you use any other mods then the ones listed here, make sure to add them one by one and test them, as some might break your game/save. Especially older mods are not compatible with the latest version(s) of ets anymore.

Where do the zip files go? EDIT: Found out where to put them, do we leave them zipped or unzip to that location?

With the Hungary map, is that integrated into the rest of it, or can you only drive around Hungary, ie. no driving from the UK to Hungary etc.

On the downloadlinks are install instructions on the same page, most need to be unzipped

The hungary map download has a readme after the first unzip, it needs a folder placed, and a special startup selection on a new profile, as its a stand alone map (the map is 1:3 scale, while ETS is 1:19), so the map is as big (when its done) as the whole of europe in ets. The TSM map mod is an expansion of the vanilla map, if you're more into that.

Love the mods Shilka, I started from scratch and spent about 4 hours driving round Europe tonight... Man this game is relaxing when you have your tunes on. And I lost count of how many times I said to myself "one more job" :icon_lol:

Strangely addictive game :icon_cool:

haha yeah, I find it a geat game for chilling out, yet the mods make it challenging enough not ot be boring. Glad you're enjoying it :)

I've been getting back into this game as well and even Streamed a Haul a few weeks ago.

We should certainly look into getting a Convoy together one of these weekends.
