Apparently the Fallout Pip-Boy app for Android is out. I downloaded it and it appears to show a lot, including a basic map. It appears to be able to sync to the PC so you can play and use your phone to look through stats and such.

I quickly closed it so I wouldn't spoil anything further but the look and feel alone, of an old pip-boy booting up and stuff, was just plain amazing.

I'm not meaning to be a killjoy here, but from watching the trailers the graphics look a bit... dated to me?

I'm guessing Fallout isn't meant to be graphically amazing focusing more on the open world I guess but I was noticing things like static hair, lack of texture on skin, low res textures on scenery etc.

I must say the only Fallout game I played was 3 on the xbox360 way back, so I don't know anything much about the lore. I'm just trying to get excited about it as everyone else is

Well, I'm kind of happy that I can still run the game somewhere on medium high, so I'm not complaining.

Those screens look better, figures that the trailer looks like shit if it's running on an Xbox. I've got an Xbox One and it's so weak it's not even funny. I hear with call of duty Black Ops 3 they can't even manage 1080p

Seriously though, I doubt if Fallout is a game for you anyway P...
I'm looking forward to the game, but must admit not feeling hyped at all, which probably is a good thing.

Decided on doing a dice roll for character stats too, more adventurous anyway, living with the consequences. I'm not a fan of making maxed builds as it is anyway. Not setting myself any goals, I'll just go and live in the gameworld, and see what happens...

You're not alone there P, I'm also skipping this boat (for now).

I'll get it in some time when it'll hit a more stable version (it's bethesda after al) and when it'll be on sale. Got no time to play anything seriously anyways.

I think the graphics argument is dumb. Minecraft, among tons of other games, show why it's not important. Gameplay and dozens of other reasons trump graphics. Yes shiny graphics are awesome and can improve the game but it doesn't make one.

This one will wait and see as far as buying the game goes...because: Bethesda.
But this one is also going to give the Mod Community time to chew on the innards of the game to see what they will spit out in the way of FX and ENB mods.
I monitor Nexus pretty regularly because: Skyrim (It looks so beautiful when modded up; and still fun to putter around in), and the folks over at Nexus have already got the FO4 Forum/site up and running.

That's your opinion. For some others graphics DO make the game Or at least contribute heavily to it. There are times in GTA 5 where I just stop to admire the scenery, it's so damn beautiful. I can spend time in that game just cycling up the mountain and watching a sunrise. The only reason I'm doing that and it's fun is because of how graphically perfect it is. I mean it's almost photorealistic at it's highest settings in 4K.

Minecraft is different because it's not trying to be pretty. It's a style choice. What irks me is when games are trying to be pretty and look like something out of the last decade.

But hey I don't want to de-rail the Fallout thread. Like Shilka said the trailer was from a console, so hopefully the PC version will be better. Only way to tell is to watch it in motion, in game after it's release.

It's coming out tomorrow isn't it? I'm looking forward to watching some streams

Not too hyped about it either, but I never really played the previous Fallout games so that's probably why. I might get it at a later stage when the has gone down.
