Farming Simulator 15

This game/sim is that good huh? I just might have to give it a go. Price doesn't seem all that bad either @ $30 on Steam. Though I'm going to have to pass up on the Saitek Heavy Equipment Precision Control System ^^!

What is the recommended way to play this? I was thinking of just using M&K as apposed to installing it on my sim rig. The sim rig seems like it might be overkill for something like this.

It is very doable with mouse and keyboard. I like playing it with wheel though (unless you go foresting). Had some custom maps downloaded which were situated in mountainous areas with small irregular fields, then a wheel comes in handy. With the regular maps its pretty easy going, so anything will do then.

M&K it is then. Been watching some tuts on Youtube. Will pick it up this weekend :).

Might be something new I can sink my teeth into for a while. Been meaning to check out Soma as well. There just aren't enough hours in a day.

Well, Farming sim can eat hours for sure. The good thing is, you can, if you want, host your own singleplayer game as a multiplayer game at any time you want, and have others help out on the farm. So if you do get it, let us know if you want some help :)

Oh we spent quite a few days fooling around back when it got released.
I believe Kitlope never turned of his computer in this period :p

Well I did end up getting it but thus far have only had time to go through all but three of the in game tutorials. So far looks good. A review summed up the game as Tonka trunks for adults. Seems befitting. Seems that multiplayer is also a big hit as you mentioned. Online hosting cos even offer servers.....whoda thought.

The game is actually quite popular, though mostly in Europe where it gets 80% of its sales. FS 2011/2013/2015 got over 3 million copies sold actually.

It's hard to put your finger on why it's so addictive at times, as most of the gameplay is basicly, well, work XD

I'm up for a co-op if any of you are :)

Hosting is pretty straight forward. It's pretty much the same as setting up a singleplayer game.
You can even use your singleplayer savegame if you have a job that needs to be done with multiple "farmers"

For sure Quick. I'm still trying to figure everything out. Pretty cool so far though. I can definitely see where this game consumes a lot of your time.

Well only just bought it on the 27th and according to steam already 29.3 hours on record. Thats a lot for me given the amount of days passed..lol

So when you used to play did someone run a server or just host an MP session?

We used the ingame host function. I'm not even sure if a dedi is available for it.

It does eat away time yeah, i think Kitlope still holds the record tho :p

Gotcha. Yea I'm sure if I tried putting in more than that in that time period, the Mrs might have something to say about it. lol

I did notice dedi servers being offered by online hosts - fairly cheap to, about $8 per month. I've entertained the idea of trying one out for 3 months if there was interest. But if there are only a few of us, a simple MP session would probably be the best route to go.

Yeah, setting up an MP game is as simple as using your SP save, take a minute to set MP up in ingame menu and you're good to go. Only thing that needs consideration is making sure everyone has the mods you're using, but if you just started with the game there's plenty of stuff to use and have fun with without having to use mods anyway. After the MP game you can just save and continue it as SP again (or MP) anytime you want.

One other thing you want to take into account, is don't sell too much equipment (tractors), so you have something to drive for people joining your MP. It's hard to help out on foot XD
