What is your favorite soldier class in Battlefield 1 so far and why?

Personally I've only spent time in Medic Class and think it needs a bit of tweaking as the class is currently underpowered. One on one you may be ok at medium range but your pretty much useless at both close and long range.

Two to one or three to one your dead pretty much every time unless they're lined up all pretty and standing in place.

I can understand the long range engagements being difficult as that's Sniper Class' forte but at close range you need to be a bit more effective particularly if you're job is to heal and revive teammates.

Going in for a revive is risky business if you run into someone and leads to death more often than I'd like.

Been playing mostly assault since I'm a ground pounding flag whore. Loving the tankbuster nades and just nades in general as I've felt they have been grossly underpowered since BF Vietnam, to the point it was almost useless ever using them. The assault guns are ok although a little more spray and prayish than needed, the one shotgun I really dig and can do some good damage and have decent runs with it. Some pistols seem to do incredible damage, even at medium range... sometimes seeming more effective than machine guns. I just need to start using dynamite more.

Nice to see one get rewarded well (pointwise) for capping flags, many a point can be had in BF1. Battlefield series hasn't been like that for a few releases. BF4 was awful for this too until they changed it 1.5 years after release, instead of a paltry 150 points for capping a flag it went to 400. Was a step in the right direction but still not enough. BF1 has mitigated that and capping flags will help your position on the scoreboard which is always nice to see cause chances are you have a lot of deaths to go with it.

Also, seems EA isn't tracking stats like they used to, KDR for instance. Probably a good thing, they're really trying to entice players to get out and fight over flags and not worry about dumbass stats. There's still third party site(s) to keep track for the curious.

All in all, this is a fabulous release, especially considering it's out of the box and an EA Battlefield game. After a few patches should even be that much better. So much just feels right in the gameplay, I also know the G-Sync monitor and new 1080 video card really helps the smoothness. I mean it fucking looks fantastic.
