Fragtard DayZ Server Status

Hello all,

Please be advised that the Fragtard DayZ Mod Server Subscription will not be renewed for the Month of October or anytime thereafter.

Community interest in the Mod has almost completely abated due to rampant hacking. This coupled with the fact the Server has brought no new membership to Fragtard.net has made continued financial support for the Mod no longer economically viable.

DayZ Mod has such great potential however until it's in a state where Admins are allowed more control over how their Servers are run and hacking is under control, we will no longer support it at Fragtard.net.

My apologies to any inconvenience this may cause.

Lets get some donations going Dedicated box so we can host anything with it

Yes my apologies all that I've not yet gotten the donations up and running as of yet. I think it's a real testament to a Community with members who actively hound the Webmaster to get Donations up and running, amazing!

That said, a dedicated box that will handle a few games doesn't come cheap. I'm sure we can shop around and find something competitive but I've yet to see any decent hardware/software/bandwidth combination come in at under $150.00 USD/month (with no hidden fees).

We don't have the Community size to be able to afford a Server at that price range.

...another 100 or so active members may tell a different tale but for now we're too small and too few to afford dedicated month to month.

We also don't have any reason to go dedicated. Right now our Community plays one game that is dwindling in popularity (locally) the closer we get to December. I like DayZ but if I don't like it enough to support it at $35/month USD I certainly will like it 4.2857142 times less at $150/month USD.

Just an update, the Server Cancellation has been processed so I believe it should be up the weekend and down by Monday October 1, 2012.

Fragtard DayZ Server Status Forum Block will be removed this upcoming weekend.

If the stand alone is anything like the mod but more secure, I can see us picking it back up again.

This of course assumes the slot/player price doesn't increase drastically.

I actually think this is an issue at our hosts end because I can still login to the ACP, I just can't start the Server as the option doesn't exist.

They could be falling victim to ddos again or something similar because even logging in is taking an age.

By my records, we are paid up through the weekend until Monday.

Already had done that through RCon a couple of times when the server was more full, just to be the better host and protect the name.

At current we have a rather large problem that I am unable to figure out.

DayZ Commander still does not show our server on the list unless you manually add it to favorites using the server IP. Which people who don't already know to look for the server won't do.
