Fragtard.net Community Game Days

On Tuesday Mar 5 2013, I experienced the rare pleasure of gaming with some of the fine folks from the 332 Viking Squadron as well as a couple of our "Teamspeak Regulars" in ArmA2.

Of course Tuesday is a ridiculous day to play especially if your Community has both European and North American Members. It equates to a them and us situation which IMHO isn't exactly a "Community Cohesion" mindset.

For a Community to grow strong and develop relationships spending time together sharing common interests is a must.

...not only that but it's a sh1t l0ad of fun!!!

It is with this in mind that I suggest we have regular Fragtard.net Community Game Days every Saturday and/or Sunday.

We'll have to come up with a time offset that works for approx an 11 - 13 hour time difference as you want to include the game session in this time difference.

Of course we'll also have to discuss Games as not everyone will have the same game.

Personally I'd suggest both Battlefield 3 and Armed Assault 2 or 3 (Alfa) for now and possibly DayZ on our very own Server. In fact there's no reason for it to just be one game as more choices means more people during whatever window in time we ultimately decide upon.

Don't have or don't feel like playing this game on that day; fine, play another game in another channel to help keep things fresh and fun.

This idea is open to everyone's input so if you have any ideas please feel free to speak up in this topic.

I am all up for it!
The fun thing is the teamwork and comms, yet serious there's still a shitload of laughter going on at the same time, it's a level of fun and cooperation that i only had 2 times before in a community and that was mostly with the same persons that are still among us now :)

Weekdays are not an option for a lot of us so this would be really a way to improve gaming, but ofcourse everyone is welcome 24/7 :)

I just think we should get some community things set up like the TLB vs TARD scrim :)
That was a *beep*load of fun!
But afaik thats being worked on, this being one chapter without an end hopefully.

At GMT-5 (EST) I am right in the middle and most flexible on the weekends in regards to time. At present we have a 9 hour time spread from GMT+1 to GMT-8 (Duke). Without disrupting most people's normal sleep cycles I think this indicates an early evening CET start time to accomplish a mission or have a worthwhile session for MP gaming.

If we use an evening start time, I don't want to infringe on anyone's RL personal time with their GF/spouse/whatever you have Wappy, so Sunday would seem the better option. As the next day is a normal workday and we currently have to cut short our missions due to sleep for work concerns I thought of moving the current start time up an hour, but if we do get more people on we could start doing more in depth and time consuming mission so I believe 2 would be preferred. Unfortunately that indicate 9AM for our PST brethern; Duke please keep your benders contained to Friday night if you could. Of course if we don't get more numbers that could slide an hour later easily.

TL;DR, I would propose a time of Sundays at 1900 GMT (That's 1800 CET, 1200 EST and 0900 PST or perhaps one hour later.

Saturdays would certainly be the best for me, pretty much anytime will work as well.

I personally don't think I can make Sundays as I have noon practice for a minimum 2 hours.

Well now that I *finally* have my computer back together Id love to get to play BF3 for the first time!

Im also up for Dayz and Warz.

Also thanks to Rockys RTS thread, Ive found some of the guys here play CoH, so thats another game im always willing to play!

As for days/times...me and firebubble both have Thusdays and Sundays off, and hes always around during the week nights but I am not on most nights because I have the baby to care for.

And no Im not getting ArmA3. :p

Will I be able to play every Saturday? No.

Will I try to hop on TS and try to play when I have time? Sure.

Timewise, the absolute earliest I can probably do is 8pm CET (2pm EST/11am PST); 9 or even 10pm is probably better though.

I'm no longer practicing with Reddit on Sundays so I can now be here either day, Saturday or Sunday.

I have no preference toward either except when my daughter is with me which can vary anyway as I don't see her that often anymore.

Please, if you haven't responded just take a quick moment to do so.

Weekends is a little difficult for me, too. Especially when the snow melts away at last and we spend more time in the country side. But it is doable every fortnight or so. For me the ideal start time would be 18.00 on Sundays and 20.00 on Saturdays CET.

Arma2 or Arma3 is my game of choice for this event.

For me both Saturday and Sunday would do, although I think Sunday would be the better option as Saturdays are sometimes occupied with other activities. My preferable time would be 20:00 CET (2pm EST).

Sundays sound better for us, once we get into something that resembles a "normal" swing of things. We will make something work. Every weekend may be hard, but knowing you folks are about may lend to us stopping by more often. Jez never knew just how busy my life was, boy did she find out the hard way. :)

Tell Jez even though she insults me every single time I see her, I still for some crazy reason miss her :(

The Vikings have established an arma event on Tuesdays at 2000 CET where everyone that wants to are welcome to join (we play Arma2/3). The time of this event will not change in the nearest future as it has been quite a bit of work to "find" this day and time.

With that said I would love to have an extra day in the week where everyone could join up and play <some game>. For me personally both Saturdays and Sundays could work. The evening is usually "holy" so the earlier the games can begin the better. 1600 CET or earlier is best, but 1800 CET could work.
I will most likely not be able to join every Saturday or Sunday but I sure would join whenever I had the opportunity if a certain time and day were set.

I've only now seen this post since it somehow avoided me, but it seems to me most people have had a say in this by now (more will certainly join later).
How about it, if we announce a game and a time for this event now? Someone who knows they will be able to attend at this point should make the announcement here, to serve the event if necessary. It looks like 1800 CET on Sunday is a time most can agree on, so it's just to define what game to play (*cough*Arma3*cough* :p).
I'll do my best to be there if it happens this weekend (2/3 march), but as of yet I can't promise anything.
