G'morning guys 'nd gals,

I have been working on a private hive server (fancy name for a regular MySQL DB) since a few days and i managed to get it to work!
What i need to test now is registering new survivors and see if multiple gameservers can "read/write" to the same DB simultaneously.
I'll try to set up a gameserver with BEC (BattlEye extended Controls) so remote admin will be easier for all of us during test sessions.

So far i have been trying to run a DayZ Chernarus gameserver and it seemed to run fine(Except for a version mismatch between the server and my client) and communicates with the DB.
Vehicles spawn currently set at 100 (for debugging/testing purposes)
The gameserver spawns the vehicles with random damage, like it does in regular DayZ however i can check if the vehicles can be spawned in working order if that's what we like.

Testing will be done in a closed enviroment (server passworded and probably hidden if possible)
If i dont feel worse (*woke up ill) when i get home i can get everything set up for testing today.

Working to get everything done, however i am struggling to get it to show online instead of on LAN.

Nice..... Someone f'ed up their code....

Now i can start from scratch again :S
Testing will probably postponed until the weekend.

I have had a succesfull run i may say :)

server is working on Lingor and Hive is working aswell!

Here's a screenshot of a random player database, just copied some non dayz weapons for fun into the hive. (This way we can have fun with PVP aswell :) everyone same layout :Dhive.png
 
This is awesome...can't wait to do more gameplay on it....


Oh yea if you notice my gear....no bandages = bad situation with Zed encounter....nearly bled out....nearly..

Guys, for tonight i suggest u install rMod in your AO directory (Download the rar and extract it there), the bikey is a signing file for servers which clients dont need. However if u want to host it for yourself u can paste it into keys.

When u start DayZ commander, go to settings and add (mod=@dayz;@rmod) without brackets
into the additional startup parameter field before clicking join.

If u want to play on normal servers u can remove the startup parameter
I keep it in a textfile in my serverdirectory for easy copying and pasting.



So far i got a AH64 Apache and UH60 Medevac ingame :)
With the rMod i can virtually add all vehicles to the server.

This is just for fooling around and testing if and how code is handled by the DB and game instance.
And what impact it has on resources after spawning non DayZ items.

If i were to make it public, i'd setup a completely new hive without anything in it (fresh start) with our customizations. *(Not the as50's and so on)

Non standard weapons (and maybe even the OP standard weapons : as50/l85) should ,imo, not be on when the server goes public .
But maybe some non standard vehicles (make them very rare?) might freshen things up a bit .

Also , maybe set up some sort of bases along the northern edge (or randomly placed along the map) so ppl can find an claim them?
Much like Tallahassee is doing on his server ?

And maybe even add to some of the smaller towns like a office building to make them more attractive ?

Just putting up some ideas ....

Keep them ideas flowing, lets make it a community input mod :)
I am looking into Lingor and the editor...... If i can manage to mod in things with the editor i dont have to do it all by handcoding.

The base idea is awesome, Once a base is claimed we should have a report function, or even a post in the forum to make sure everyone that plays there knows where not to look for a new camp as its taken already.
Can even put up some signs around the bases stating it has been claimed by someone already

This way if Takistan gets a reliable server.pbo file we can edit everything in by editor and make taki more fun :)
