As of today, paint schemes on both the W12 and FW31 will be disabled, leaving you with only the default Mercedes/Williams paint [Edit: AND the in-sim default schemes in the Paint Booth still works as well]. It was rumored that the W12 wouldn't be paintable at release, and apparently the FW31 was never supposed to be paintable, either. I'm not sure if the W12 being paintable was an oversight, or iRacing hoping that Trading Paints would allow then to side-step these guidelines, but it looks like the final decision is a hard "No". Any shot of a "pro-series" is dead although I did realize they probably couldn't do it anyways while Codemasters has the F1 Esports license. Unless AMG-Mercedes starts a series similar to McLaren Shadow? But then they can't even put the driver's name on the cars? It will be interesting to see how this impacts participation. I know not having a custom paint-scheme sure takes the wind out of my sails when participating in online racing.

Just got confirmation that the In-Game paint booth still works fine, so there are some in-sim customizations left. I guess the car just won't recognize "car_xxxxxx.tga" files. Someone showed pictures of them making the field using the in-game paint-scheme, and I told them they should make a list of "iRacing paint + Hex Codes" in-case someone is looking for a specific car! If they follow up with that, I will post it here!

This is a little bit convoluted, I don't use Pintrest, and their website is a little... messy? Maybe if I spent more time here I'd understand this better... Anyways, there is an account "Lunar Works" which has made several of these "Car + Hex Code" swatches (along with just... so many paint swatches in general, so you need to scroll down the page a bit. If anyone more familiar with the site knows of a way to condense these down without linking to each individual image, I'm all ears!) But it's a really nice resource to have if you're looking for F1 team hex-codes! It looks like they have most of the current cars, along with some cars from previous years, too!
