I would share some screens but it turns out you need a degree in programming to get this working. I'll try again at some point but man this is crying out for a self installer.

Well, as I'm home and had some free time I had another go at getting this up and running (plus Just Cause 3 will need some patching before it's playable).

I got it working and... wow. Thanks Daunt for putting me on to this. The game just looks out of this world now, and not only that the sounds are so much better. V8's sound like V8's (and slide like V8's), the AK47 assault rifle now recoils everywhere and sounds incredible. I've only played 5 minutes so far but I did take this quick screenshot at random to show how damn good it looks now. This is from when I jacked some random dude's car outside a shop> I can't imagine how some of the scenery is going to look like when I get up into the mountains...



I can't wait to go exploring Los Santos now, and I'm looking forward to it raining as from what I've seen on screenshots it looks incredible. I'm not going to get a trainer I'm going to explore it properly and make the most of it as from what I've seen so far every second is going to be a joy

Decided to mod in one of my favourite cars of all time to see how it looked in this Pinnacle of V overhaul. Wasn't disappointed...

Try booting up GTA 5, set everything to as high as it can go, that means everything, even all the advanced options and grass set to Ultra etc. Set MSAA to X2, X8 for reflections etc. then set the resolution to 3840 x 2160. Then install Pinnacle of V mod. Unfortunately screenshots here don't really do it justice, as we have a max resolution of 1920x1080 that we can upload here. Even a video on youtube will compress it down. Words fail me when it comes to describing how good this looks in motion...

If you come back and tell me you can't see a difference after doing the above though then you really do need to go get your eyes checked lol

You can, but it still compresses the crap out of it. The resulting footage looks nothing like the raw video. I guess you'd have to use Vimeo or something like that.

Yeah the forums force you to use basically 1920x1080 and smaller... and the actual file size is also pretty limiting (2.5 MB?) so both are issues when trying to show off 4K screens here.

Not even sure how worthwhile looking at a 4K screenshot is on a normal HD screen. You simply don't have enough pixels to show it properly, so you'll never see it as it's meant to be seen.

The only plus to this is relative size. A normal HD screen shot literally is a bit less than half of 4k, so to show at full resolution, it would only take up 1/4 of the screen. A 4k screen to be shown at full resolution on an HD screen, it would need to be zoomed in, so you'd see only a 1/4 of the full screen.

Exactly, I have to re-size them and save them as .jpegs to post them here. Doesn't do it justice at all. If anyone has GTA and the rig to handle it I would definitely recommend this mod. It really is a game changer.

I just sat and chilled out watching the sunrise earlier while having a coffee and listening to music pondering how far games have come. Never really done that in a game before.

Like Quick said earlier, imagine this modded version of GTA with the Rift. I can't wait.

Nice. Yes Jpeg is already a very compressed image format and needs to be on this forum. Maybe Duke can speak to the possibility of allowing larger pictures to be posted?

The one you just posted is only 332kb. A 4k screen should be anywhere from 3-8MB I think, which is far too large for this board.

I'm still waiting on the rift. I think it's getting ridiculous (and by that I mean worrisome) that there's still no news for the release yet.

EDIT: My phone takes 5312x2988 res photos native. They're usually around 3-4 MB but I can see 4k screens being even more.
