They are and have been working on a PC version. It will be out in the late spring. They will announce it officially this winter well after console launch. They arent talking about it now due to fear it will slightly soften console version sales. And they really want to be the highest selling game of year and tempting anyone with a better version scheduled for next year goes against there goal. Additionally I expect next gen console versions next fall, though have no evidence for the later.

When you consider how the modders got GTA IV looking with iCEnhancer can you imagine what GTA V will look like once they get their hands on it?

I've got a bunch of info about gta online for you today, and it's quite a list:

• There will be over 500 missions, some solo, some coop
• making your own character will have certain influences on the game, but won't have a specific story or story ending
• goal is doing things to acquire money to buy houses, cars and other assets
• you'll appear in several cutscenes, without having dialogue yourself
• you'll also be able to make female characters
• almost all aspects of singleplayer will be present in gta online, like missions, heists, robberies, attacking gang hide outs, robbing armed vehicles, races, tennis, basejumping, you name it
• timewise gta online will happen after gta singleplayer
• you can steal cars for Simeon Yetarean, you'll be introduced to him by Franklin's friend Lamar
• If you befriend motorclubs they can help you out with missions
• befriending a certain tech person can make you invisible on multiplayer radar
• befriending a security company will give you the possibility to perform airstrikes for you
• server population will be dynamically arranged, first friends and crewmembers will allowed to join, then other players
• you have the possibility to pick who will join your game, or let the game handle it
• gta online will adapt to your style, and will offer new missions based on your play history
• there will be a crew ranking system
• you can pick your character the sims style, by choosing your grandfather and grandmother, and the game will deduct your character from that
• your starting stats will depend on the picked lifestyle, but can be upgraded later
• players in the passenger seat can also operate the car radio, put down waypoints for the driver, and attack others from the car
• you can make selfies with your phonecam
• during a store robbery you can pressurise the person being robbed, though they will react differently to it
• it's possible to escape the police by staying out of sight, there will be no police radius, but vision cones, so staying out of sight closeby will work too
• after a mission there will be money and reputation points to divide. The crew leader can decide on what cut each one gets
• invitations are received on the phone
• a crewleader can decide to keep all loot himself, but there will be a way for others to not accept such a deal
• for bigger missions there will be a lobby system, where you can pick roles, such as sniper, pilot etc. Crewleader can set settings such as time, weather, difficulty and amount of lives
• once you have enough money to get a high end recidency, you'll be able to set up heists yourself, wether you're a crewleader or not
• large missions have several stages, starting with a set up phase
• you'll be able to enter online in 'passive mode', and other players won't be able to disturb you in any way, however it will turn off as soon as you fire a gun
• you can be robbed by other playes, so any money you earn should be banked as soon as possible
• and yes, you'll be able to buy stuff when all your money is in the bank, you don't need to have it on you to buy stuff
• if you get robbed by another player, you'll have the possibility to put a bounty on that players head
• every house that you buy has room to save at least 2 cars, larger houses can hold up to ten
• your garage will double as showroom, so you and others can view your cars there
• you can hire a mechanic to maintain your cars
• you can insure your cars
• you can invite friends over to your house to hang out, watc tv shows together or even rent a stripper to come over
• Missions will be managed through rockstar social club, meaning rockstar can edit or add missions at will

Yes it is. Officially it's even a seperate game, but free for gta V owners.

The only fail is the 16 player limit, I know old gen hardware. Seems a waste to have 200 square miles of game with 16 people. Its like playing 1v1 in Chernarus without vehicles and spawning on opposite sides of the map. One additional reason I will wait for the PC release( I'll still pirate it on 360 for the story tho).

BTW, the lifeinvader site I posted about earlier appearantly is linked to the game through your rockstar social club account. stalk (follow) people there, and you can get in game stuff back for it, like free spraypaint jobs, haircuts etc. Nice feature to see these sites have actual influence in the game. Follow stuff there and you'll notice it on your ingame phone as well.
