GTAV Online, your first bounty

Please share the story around the first bounty a player put on you Online in GTAV.

Last night I was doing my typical aimless drive by shooting stuff when I noticed a player chopper tailing me on the minimap. Within seconds of me seeing him there, things started exploding around me as he was shooting rockets at my car.

I slowed down enough where I could bail from my car and run to cover which was about 40 feet away from me. As it happens I bailed out in the nick of time because my car literally exploded even before my body stopped rolling down the sidewalk.

I ran for cover but he persisted and was maneuvering to get shots on me in this little complex I was hiding in.

Fortunately for me though I had just purchased a DMR with scope so I could protect myself at range.

I shot at his cockpit and managed to get a few shots on him but given his altitude advantage and proximity I couldn't get a head shot, couldn't even really see him to be honest.

I know I got at least one hit on him but I'm not sure of whether or not that's why he lost control and crashed?

Anyway, I get this message on my phone that "you fucked with the wrong guy" and then a few moments later a $3000 bounty placed on my head.

Fucked with the wrong guy lol, it's called defending yourself.

Anyway I wonder if they're out the money when no one gets the kill?

BTW is it just me or are people out to get you at every opportunity in GTAV Online?

I had another guy come at me for no reason early in session but a quick shot to the dome ended his tirade quick.

Yeah, it's like walking up to Duke when you see him online for the first time!

BTW, that guy needs to put his money were his mouth is, last time I went for a public player, I put $9000 on his head, and called in a robber and a team from merryweather, while watching the guy getting peppered on tv from the comfort of my own home.

If you put a bounty on someones head, you lose it anyway, unless you are the one to kill him.

I would imagine it has the same pitfalls as EVE: Online's bounty system has. When you accrued a nice enough bounty, or any at all possibly, you'd just let your friend kill you and split the money. Not sure whether money transferring is a possibility, but I'd much rather let a friend collect it than anyone else.

That message you get is an automated one when a bounty is put on you. (Cool story btw) It can be put on you by NPC's even, if you steal their car for example. You'll get the same message regardless. And yes, if you're playing GTA Online in public lobbies you are not going to get anything much out of it other than a huge sprawling deathmatch.

GTA Online is best played with a bunch of us on TS either in a closed group or banding together in a public game

I feel a weekend GTA session coming on... :icon_twisted:

EDIT: As for first bounty I had put on me in the PC version of GTA online, it was probably some asshat called "Shilka" or "Fapfap", something like that

To be fair I had sent a mugger to steal all their moneyz shortly beforehand so I had it coming I guess
