Well, finally gave in and rejoined the iRacing crowd :icon_cool:

Bought the RUF, Daytona and Sonoma.

Had a blast practicing with you all, I'd forgotten how much fun it was :)

I'm going to be racing the Mazdas at Daytona to try and get my safety rating up to enable me to race in GT3 next season.

Was great turning laps again, enough to keep me up until 3:30am :icon_eek:

See you out there on track all :D

Good to have you back. Can't wait to boot you off the track... I mean race alongside you respectfully and cleanly.

Thanks I think lol

I'm going for my B Class license, as I want to race the Ruf in the GT3 series next season.

I'm currently up to 2.73 from 2.62 yesterday. Hopefully I can get it up to 3.0 by next week.

That was awesome last night little P, glad to have you back!

You performed exceptionally well at Sonoma as well, you picked up the track in no time and had decent pace as well.

Yeah the first thing I did really is just fast track to B license. We get our promotions next monday (not this upcoming monday) so if you're above 3.0 you'll automatically get your season-end promotion.

Well, I had had my first RUF race tonight...

I'm trying to get my safety rating above 3.0 ready for the promotions next week.

I was losing too much safety rating in the Advanced Mazda Cup. It was too tempting to go wheel to wheel. Great racing, very fun, but dropped me from 2.75 to 2.52 in a few races...

So, I decided to buy Suzuka and give the RUF cup a whirl.

I didn't qualify for my first race, I just had a quick sighting session in a time trial, went round most of Suzuka in 5th gear. Then dove straight in for a race.

After a very nervous start and first lap, I decided to let the few cars behind me through, as my main aim is to gain SR. My thinking was I can keep a steady pace and gradually increase my speed and maybe pick up some places if people spin off etc. And spin off they did! I avoided most of it, one small incident where I had to do an evasive move and he just clipped me bouncing off the wall, but I ended up starting 6th, and finishing 6th, with a +0.12 SR boost so I'm happy with that.

And as for Suzuka, I've always loved this track and in iRacing it doesn't disappoint! Absolutely loved driving it, and for the last six laps or so myself and another driver were pushing each other all the way, I managed to just keep a gap though and finish 6th out of 12.

Man I love iRacing, why did I ever leave?! lol

Awesome. Suzuka is actually a great track, I found I learned quite a bit and polished a few skills that were really lacking (GT3 ran there last week). I've always had problems brush braking and braking to the apex (I tend to slam on the brakes in the brake zone then kinda drift through the turn, as Ken knows very well) but Suzuka helped polish that. I went back to silverstone, which we raced the first race of this season, and I was almost 1.5 seconds faster.

Anyway, as I said before, I rushed up into B license and basically ignored where I finished (and of course, a lot of guys spun out to help me not feel too bad) Time trials also helped, though the higher you get the less impact it has so once you get up to B and close to A, a clean TT for 30 minutes gives you about .05 or less.

Keep at it!

Thanks Daunt :)

I could really do with a setup I think, but setting up a car for me used to equate to slamming it and mucking around with gear ratios and that was about it :icon_redface:

Download setup sync. Its a program that allows you to browse other people's setups, and is probably the best/easiest way to download and try setups. Very easy and straightforward.

Thanks Daunt, I've got that running now, had a quick practice and wow does the Ruf feel better now! Thankyou :D

I'll give it a blast tomorrow and see how I get on in a race, it's too late to sling that thing round Suzuka now ;)

Cheers :icon_cool:
