iRacing 24h of Le Mans 2016

If you spent a little less time on your knees Justin you wouldn't have these problems :p

"Bullying is often called personal harassment. There is no single definition but here is one;

Personal harassment is not limited to but also includes the act of intentionally causing harm to others, through verbal harassment, intimidation or other more subtle methods of coercion such as manipulation, including ignoring and isolating the person."

Not sure if I want to do the race, really just not enjoying the car/track. Going to say I'm backed out of it as of now.

Robin Esterson is hosting a Le Mans practice this Saturday at 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm Eastern. I'm not sure I'll make it... might be able to jump on near the end of it but I will be trying to get some practice in this weekend either way.
I may actually make this practice if I can.

I'm still horrible on this track because I don't know the braking points yet but at least I'm finally familiar with the layout. I'd really love to do a full fuel run Saturday if possible not so much to determine usage, more just to see if I can get around without screwing up.

Anyone run pratice this weekend? I ended up getting amazing tickets to the Wings preseason game (row 1 right on the glass).

Just seeing where everyone is at this point because it looks like the aston team is down to 4 drivers now.

I'm still practicing in the Aston a bit. Did some races at Sebring this past week just to get more seat time overall in the car. I will be doing a little more this week then diving in full bore after this weekend and the Bathurst 1000.

I tried multiple sets, just to get a comparison feel from your set to others and see where we're at. Yours felt the best but still felt a bit unstable. I made a slight adjustment to the toe in the front. Not sure why you're running positive (toe in) in the fronts, but I put it down two clicks. Much better.

My set was modified from the baseline and I don't remember touching toe so I'm guessing it's like that in baseline.

I really spent my time trying to make the car stable with as low wing as possible.

NP Ken just wondering. Like I said of multiple sets I tried, it felt the best. Just felt a bit snappy and the toe helped... especially under braking and a little bit more planted coming out of corners (still loose obviously, with low wing, but it doesn't seem to get upset as easily)

I noticed the Aston needs massive amounts of TC to keep the wheels from spinning. The wheel spin doesn't usually throw you to a side but you won't go forwards either.

Is the set on medium friction brakes? I found it to be very sensitive on high friction compared to most of the GT3 cars.

I usually run medium friction brakes on pretty much everything these days but must admit I don't recall if I made that change to this set?

It is medium but the bias is set to 52 and still locks up really easily. I find 55 ish is better.

Something I didn't realize until now... Aston doesn't have ARB adjustments.

Yeah, we gotta play with the differential a lot probably. I believe I had it set to full understeer at Spa because it was prone to lift-off oversteer.

Also, not sure if you noticed but they changed Le Mans to a single race that weekend, starting at 13:00 GMT.

For me, the clock will go backwards an hour during the race which is nice :)

Wow that's awesome. I saw that thread - there was overwhelming majority for only one race / split. It doesn't make sense for a 24 hour race to have multiple race - it naturally caters to all drivers in all time zones. So good!

Of course in that same thread it didn't take long for the first Australian to jump in and complain that his race would end when the sun is down... What kind of argument is that? :p

They have 0 reasons to complain about the start of a 24 hour race, except maybe if it would start at 23:00 GMT on Saturday, which makes it end on Monday morning for them.

Hahaha. Of course. I somewhat understand that the beginning / end doesn't sync up with what everyone would want it to be. But it never does. I'd like to see it shift / vary based either on the RL location of the track, or just change (rather than be 1300 GMT every time). Because you could make the same argument for "why does it need to start at that time?"

So I kinda see what he's saying and while I don't agree that it should be more than 1 split, I'd not mind seeing the start/end times vary from race to race. I'd especially love to see it synced to the real world location when we have dynamic day/nights.
