Super Mod
First off, I want to say I loved my time with iRacing. When I chose not to renew, it was because of time. I'm a parent of two kids and have a life that doesn't fit in with having to shut myself off to commit to a race in Racing. With my free time limited, I need a game/sim where I can pick it up at any time and jump right into something. There were several instances where I would have a short window of time to allow me to hop into a race, only to get wrecked out in the first couple laps. Sometimes it was my fault, sometimes it wasn't. What was required more than anything was the ability to immediately jump into another race and try again, but I couldn't, having to wait for the next time slot sucked. I could always run some practice laps, but that also lost its appeal.
My life is still busy, but the prospect of having AI gets me excited and wanting to renew again. The idea of running races against the AI whenever I want, but also racing online when time permits, is exactly what the doctor ordered. Hone my skills even more offline, while still having the fun of a competitive race. If I crash, I can immediately restart.
I know a lot of people have a negative view of iRacing adding AI, but for me personally this is what will bring me back. I have to imagine others may feel the same way.
How do you all feel about it? Is it a good thing? A bad thing? Or maybe you are ambivalent? I was just curious to see what all the seasoned B2O'ers thought about it.
