The quarter mark of this season means we head to the island of Japan for the tight circuit of Okayama International.

Expect close racing in the confines of this smooth windy track where open throttle barely lasts long enough to hit top gear. Downforce and turn-in are key setup features here.

I know at least a few expected (or hoped for) a track change this week. I think we'll have good participation and the racing around this track will be very exciting and close.

Practice Session starts at 7:30 PM EST spanning 1 hour and 40 minutes finishing off with a 20 minute, inverse grid, Qualify Race.

Main Race starts at approx 9:45 PM EST with 10 minute warmup and 50 minute Race.

Grid positions carry over from Qualify Race Results.

A mandatory Pit Stop is required within a narrow 5 minute Pit Window at the 25 - 30 minute mark to take on tires only.

I'm still unsure what to do with the wing. There aren't that many straights but the corners are so slow that a lot of wing is not going to help much. Currently I'm running 4/5 in default-hot weather in the Mercedes.

Reading the official forums it seems like the cars are quite nicely balanced here.

Would this be a good race to try out early morning or late afternoon?

I can't imagine having too much wing is going to hinder your speed any more than a few hundredths. The straights are just that short that I can't see it being a factor. Maybe a slight one but nothing that is perceptible to us humans.

I find it funny they reduced the drag on all the new cars right before a track like this, where you can't even tell.

Spa was last week and that was a pretty good tell for the drag changes.

I think they changed it though like Friday or something and I didn't get a chance to race late in the week. This is the first full week I believe.

I don't think GT3s were as well balanced as they are now. It's definitely down to the driver in the long run. Some tracks will benefit some cars and that's just the way it is.
