This week we make a trip to the fantastical island of Britain for Brands Hatch. The first of two races in the UK, (the second being next week at Silverstone) Brands Hatch, much like our track last week, has a very long and storied history.
Most famous for the sweeping dive of turn 1- Paddock Hill Bend, which is a deceptively tricky blind corner, the track will need plenty of oversteer to complete this narrow track fast. An abundance of low to mid-speed corners might indicate less of a downforce need but proper fine tuning is required.
Open Qualify Session starts at 7:30 PM EST spanning 1 hour. Particpants are required to put down a reasonable time (within 3 seconds of the leader) to qualify for the Q-race. If any less than 3 laps are put down, or the driver is not within 3 seconds of the leader, he/she will be put at the back of the grid)
Qualify Race starts at 8:30 PM EST spanning 40 minutes of practice and finishing off with a 20 minute, inverse grid, Qualify Race, gridded per the open qualify session prior.
Main Race starts at approx 9:45 PM EST with 10 minute warmup and 50 minute Race.
Grid positions carry over from Qualify Race Results.
A mandatory Pit Stop is required within a narrow 5 minute Pit Window at the 25 - 30 minute mark to take on tires only.
