iRacing Enduro Round 1 - Road Atlanta

Created a new thread for the next endurance round, Oct 10 at Road Atlanta.

Who plans on making it, setup discussions (we all know most everyone isn't running Miami this week.) etc.

I'll be running there, I love RA!

We're going to be murdered in the BMW on the straight though. We're basically coming out of a hairpin to get to it so look for the Ruf to be strong yet again, at least in this area.

We may make up for it coming down the hill to the Pit Straight and also a bit quicker through the esses as we can simply ignore the curbing.

Could make for some interesting back and forth racing this time around.

I would love to be there but because its Canadian Thanksgiving I'll be out of town probably drinking cheap beer and shooting stuff with family.

I've heard someone else say the exact same thing. I think the Ruf is going to be very fast on the straight, but will have difficulty up and down the hill, just like the McLarry.

I'm mostly afraid for the left handed corner on top of the hill after the esses. Your car exits the corner on a curb and I've lost the McLaren multiple times there a couple of seasons ago because of all the bumps.

There are talks in iR forums about redoing Monza BES due to track condition bug. Can't find the thread, but do double check. Just a heads up.

I wouldn't complain if Monza was redone but I'd hate for it to replace Road Atlanta.

Of the two tracks I like RA more personally.

24+25 october - Road Atlanta,
7+8 november - Brand hatch,
21+22 november - Zolder,
28+29 november - Silverstone,
5+6 december - Spa

Darn, you think they'd at least move it to the rear of the schedule. Racing Monza twice in a row is an exercise in frustration.

Oh man. What a surprise there. Guess I do get to get in on the Ruf / Macca show at Monza.

I really need to work on the Arcade just to rig something up to get it in a usable state. I am reallllly hoping I can this weekend. I refuse to put it up back on the desk.

Meh, i said i was going to race the bimmer, so i'll stick with it in every endurance i'm joining.

I'm not going to switch just because the Ruf and Macca have an advantage on this track.
I think it's more satisfying to finish in a car that's clearly not matching with the rest.



Btw speaking of Monza, Caddy is running there this week. Anyone up for a couple?

I'm not switching either. I raced the BMW at Monza last season when the BoP was even worse for the BMW. Doesn't make it any less annoying though.

So this redo is nice for you Quick, you've got an extra week to get to C.

So, shall we rename this topic then? There is a lot of pressure from drivers to switch Road Atlanta and Monza though, so that the Petit le Mans is at the same time as Road Atlanta.

I don't particularly like Monza but it is a nice opportunity to see if we can improve on setup and stuff. The cancelled race was the best practice that you could imagine.
Unfortunately this confirms that my qualify time wasn't skill though. I probably would have only done a 1:47.2 max without the bug .

Monza has been moved to Nov 28. Road Atlanta is Oct 10. That is the same day as Petit le Mans which is on same track, so you guys can register diffrent teams on both events and hop seats. Granted, you'd be driving pretty much non-stop, it keeps you in practice I guess.

I've only ran on RA once before in a V8 and it seemed like hell
I hope the bimmer can get to a decent pace and i already heard Noël say the Macca was about to die on there

I am not really sure why they planned two enduro races the same day / weekend. Why couldn't one get pushed back a weekend? With BES every other week, I'd think it makes more sense that an off week would be road warrior.

And yes I get they want it to match up with petit le mans. But I don't like that idea in the first place.

How's the license coming Quick?
