3h 36m to go:
Jes and I are still in our race, we managed to get up to 3rd with a car that's close to looking brand new if you ignore a couple dents. Had a minor spin but the car didn't touch anything luckily.

Overall, I liked the distribution of classes in the second split to make it a true multi-class event. However, the racing from many of the drivers wasn't endurance-like. Most of the C-specs were alright but the GT3s were as aggressive as always and while many C7s used their brain, too many still made terrible decisions, including two examples of prototypes re-entering the track and hitting me in the process (footage coming soon). The damage from this cost me at least half a second per lap. Since I was running in 3rd (Audis OP) I kept going.

At some point a RUF was completely oblivious to me being next to him at the start of the esses and just turned in (I hope for him it was a Q-bar bug). I think this heated my tires up a bit because when I attempted to pass the RUF leader on the inside of T6 as I had done before, I hit the mini-bump, combined with half-throttle which made me lose control and take him out. I felt really silly for that but I got a totaled car as I deserved.

Too bad Kyle/Davey/Bedo that you couldn't hold on to first. It does look like your car got pretty much fully repaired (fastest lap time near the end) which is nice.

Good job on 3rd place Quadro and Jes!

It was a battle and we had to dodge a couple of dodgy drivers but we got her home in one piece. Thanks again to Quadro for some stellar rock solid driving that brought us home to 2nd place.

Daunt, Davey, and Bedo, keep your heads up boys. A valiant effort in a tough race with even tougher moving obstacles. Sometimes we get the breaks and sometimes the breaks break you. Quadro and I might have been out of it if I had spun out anywhere else other than the spot that I did. I layed a tire on the grass before the chicane under braking and luckily spun into the run off. I look forward to the chance of being on an endurance team with any of you fine gentleman. Heres to the future!

Noel, how come you didn't use your alien powers and beam those drivers up to never-never land? I think there should be a driving test that anyone racing an endurance race has to pass. I don't know what it would entail but the severe lack of common sense is deplorable.

On to Le Mans!

Just getting home now, What an amazing experience. I'd like to say thanks all around to the team. Everyone involved played such a crucial role, the teamwork we show is hands down one of top reasons why I love racing Endurance with this bunch. Also another huge thanks to Naid from Crimson for having Bedo and I down there on two separate motion simulators that produce the best driving possible.

Kyle you did phenomenal, takes an Iron Man to run three consecutive stints and it's so easy to lose focus with one incident it's almost like a domino effect, just want to say you did great and that the most important thing is that we finished the race with an excellent car. Running the fastest time with 2 to go.

Bedo I'm very thankful you were able to come up to Crimson and run with absolutely no practice before hand, I knew you were an excellent racer but you really proved yourself. Especially looking at our fastest and average lap times we were all so close and that provided an excellent consistent team.

Lap traffic was really tough if they were met at turn 1 because there really isn't a place to pass for another 10 seconds down the road which kept us out of a top 10. I was running down 10th spot and then I caught the two guys battling for 2nd and 3rd. I tried to show as much respect as possible for the drivers battling for higher positions as should always be done. My last 2 stints were some of my favorite on iRacing. From the extremely close racing with George cutting through lap traffic, I had to keep every once of focus concentrating on his car in front. Great fun and excellent display of teamwork yesterday.

Also Thank you Ken for providing us with an Internet home and streaming the race. Unfortunately we had some equipment tech difficulties so I wasn't able to stream from my POV. All in all Kudos to everyone involved in this effort, I look forward to running more Endurance and everything else B2O has to offer.

Congrats to all the teams, sounds like you all did a great job overcoming significant obstacles!!! We ran at VLN this morning and were able to finish 6th after starting at 20th Now if I could get my qualifying time up some more perhaps we could get a better starting position. Working on it. Time to start practice for Lemans. One day, one day, I will be fast enough to race with u guys, but having a lot of fun trying to get there :D

Very enjoyable race in our split ( the split below Kyle and Co) apart from a slight wrinkle in proceedings when my team mate hit the pit wall on the inside :p ( 8 mins required repairs! ) and a couple of minutes optional throughout the race we held it together and managed a 3rd spot in the DP.
Well done to all the other teams , and thanks to ken for streaming as it was nice to see what everyone else was up to when i wasn't spotting/driving.

Great job to everyone involved. Still really kicking myself for my second stint, but I think it was a great day for Band of others and it's a shame I can't make highlight reels out of all of these races.

This is why I think the DP is by far the best endurance car on iRacing. The damage repair model seems to be a step above the abysmal rest of iRacing and we were able to get the car repaired to pretty much 100% on two occasions, once after a nose replacement, and another after what probably was a left front tire issue.

Anyway, I look forward to the real Le Mans next month (end of Oct) and will be posting a thread about it very soon.

So I can delete the monster replay file then? I'm starting to get into a position where Hard Drive space is pretty limited

Great job again all of you, you did B2O proud (as usual)!

If you really need, you can delete it. But my ambitious plan to have the highlights video completely done and live friday morning. So if you can wait until Friday I'll know for sure 100%. As I said I saved 3 segments of the race and it should be good, but won't know until I start recording clips tonight and tomorrow.

I can save it until then, no problem. I misread your post I think because it sounded as if you wouldn't be making a video, my bad.

No problem. I hear you on Hard drive space. I just went on a tear, after downloading WinDirStat (AMAZING TOOL) to see how the hell my 120GB SSD was full, when all it had was iRacing and some misc stuff. After looking at that program, it showed me that windows wasn't cleaning out the temp folder on the SSD, and was hogging over 36 GB worth of space. Quickly deleted that shit; much better now.

Here are two examples of why the second split will not guarantee sensible driving from everyone:

Both drivers apologized to me but I have also protested both of them.

Both of those are incredibly horrible and I don't blame you at all for protesting them. Both were very easy rejoins, if they had just taken a second or two extra and paid attention. Sorry man, sucks for your race. You'll see something similar when you see how we overtook first place initially, when a terrible rejoin between 1st and 2nd DP also collected the 3rd place DP.

First one all he had to do was stop, back up and rejoin on the left, rather than do the turn all at once and go across the ENTIRE track. The left is extremely safe since that's the opposite side of the track out so there should've been no issue with a safe rejoin.

The second, you saw him all the way, and weren't tracking out right, so if he'd have just stayed right he'd have been fine. No idea why he had to go all the way across the track but it was extremely boneheaded.

In both cases... TURN 5 SUCKS. worst turn ever.
