iRacing Petit Le Mans 30 Sept- Oct 1st *Team Thread*

@Nejtun I am going to pass for this event. As much as I'd like to join you guys and Deb (I will still be on TS when I have time and watch/spot if needed), I am planning to spend my IR & SR time in the Skippy's and MX-5's for now to learn better track management and driving skill. I hopped from Skippy to the BSS and IMSA cars too fast and feeling the affects of it. After spending last week with the Skippy in several practice sessions and 6 official races I decided to take in 20 laps at Road Atlanta in the 488 GTE Sunday night. I am seeing a difference already as I ran the best lap of 1:21 and was consistent in the 1:22's (not really fast, but better than I have been in the past). I will still plan on #practicepals Mon/Wed/Fri nights with you guys as time allows.

Special thanks to @Jeeve79 for reaching out to me and helping with driving technique during one of the Skippy races I was doing. I appreciate it.

Thanks,
John

Luckily Jes and I tend to run really similar lap times, so after some practice tonight I'll get you the fuel buddy info for Team Ford.

Is there a B2O paint for the 488 GT3 somewhere?

I have not used fuel buddy and am not sure what lap times everyone is driving and it depends on weather. I would use 1:21 for right now as that seems relatively average in warm weather. I will download the Fuel Buddy app and see if I can figure out what you need.

I just saw this: "iRacing.com will be coming down for deployment of the 2017 Season 4 Patch 2 Release on Thursday, September 28th, beginning at 9:00am EDT."

I certainly hope they don't make any changes to the C7, GTE or GT3 cars right before an event. Not much different than adding the 488 right before LeMans earlier this year.

Just done some laps with the latest setups Debs posted.

The pace I was lapping was 21's, 22's most of the time. The only issue I had with them was the rear having a little oversteer as soon as I touched the brake or corner entry but apart from that, they feel nice.

Many thanks to @Noodleguitar for sorting out the fuel schedules you can find them here , feel free to adjust your teams if need be although the GT3 team are kinda limited on adjustments because of the times people are available and stint length , KInda the same for the GTE team as well lol :D but mess with it if you need to ;)

I finish work at 9 pm GMT on Saturday so probably won't be home until 10 pm GMT but will try my best to get home as soon as possible.

Anyway I'll shut up now since I'm annoying people by constantly posting

I got you down for 21:55 or 21:30 GMT @Ryan Walker , that is 22:55 or 22:30 our time as the clocks haven't switched yet and we are still in BST. so should be ok right ?

and post as much as you like ;) the more info we have early on the better so there are no surprises ! :)

@Nejtun it is probably the size of the thread causing the issue, if it is anything like the past issues. Try deleting one of the two large images and see if you can post more.

@Jes_971 With some help from Nejtun I made some changes to the VRS set to better account for the weather and greasy track. This is MUCH more stable over the course of a stint and handles Road Atlanta's problem turns a bit better. It's probably a touch slower than the VRS set, but it stays underneath you for an entire stint and it's still competitive.

If it feels a bit to uhh, what's the term Ken used, "pointy", for you drop the rear ARB stiffness to soft and see if that helps. I found it had better turn in with medium but not so much it snap oversteered.

Just keep in mind guys to put little harder springs for this track, bottoming under compressionion can be deadly, especially last corner, first turn if you run wide on the left curb and eses.Maybe not needed for every car but Audi and Merc need that but if you didnt had problems ignore this

Ken, can you post your last version of the setup for the 488 GT3? iRacing is offline and wanted to transfer it for Bedo and Reid.

I'm at work Deb so I can't post anything.

Just use the last version I gave you and take down front castor to 9.1 and add a few clicks of ride height to the rear.

...or I can share it when I get home tonight.

I'll also upload the Ferrari 488 GT3 paint to TP tonight (forgot to last night, sorry).
