Re: Season 4 2015 Schedules

Initial thoughts... I will probably kill myself during the first two gt3 races. What a load of crap. Also homestead is a bit odd...

V8SC is well... pretty much the same crap.

S4 2015 schedules are up!

No surprises to GT3 BSS. Not too excted about the first 2 weeks. Hate the first two tracks. Might be better in the BMW though this time around.

They moved the HPD to a prototype challenge with the Radical. The HPD is no longer in the Sportscar Championship. The corvette DP is officially replacing the Riley DP in the Sportscar Championship

The global challenge has been broken up. Cadillac now runs by itself in the Cadillac Cup which will be fixed, and the Kia now runs by itself in the Kia Cup which is open.

I LOVE IT, Mid-Ohio, FINALLY!!!

I'm also starting to warm up to Barber.

Homestead, COTA, Okayama, yuk.

GT1 has a decent schedule though -COTA. Having said that I have no idea how I'm supposed to get the Aston over the mountain, the car just feels light and airy almost everywhere to me.

Agreed. The GT1 schedule looks like pure gold minus COTA. For some reason I enjoy Okayama, I'm not sure why you dislike it.

Mid-Ohio I can tolerate, and as I said, probably moreso in the BMW... but curse Barber. Honestly homestead road actually looks real fun, I watched a video of it... just not too keen on buying it...

Most of schedules I'm ok with. Except weeks 2,3 for GT3 :p
Daunt, note, WSCS became IMSA a while ago ;) due to sponsorship.

I should post that schedule too, just to have it. Will do that in a few.

What does IMSA satand for? It's a series I've been pretty interested in running, as I love the multiclass racing, but none of the cars really do it for me.

International Motor Sports Association.

I'm guessing the participation might go up next season because they removed the HPDs. The HPD drivers caused many complaints from the other classes. However, the HPD was also usually the most popular car in the IMSA series.

I'm sure it was. For some reason everyone only likes racing the fastest class. I'm not really sure of the RL series and what cars they use but I liked having a true multiclass series like global challenge and IMSA. They seem to be separating them all by speed now.

My true complaint though is one with an underlying issue at heart. The actual license needed to run these series are all over the place and make absolutely no sense. GT1 is a C class series. Why is it lower than GT3? The new prototype challenge is also C class. The Lotus 79 though is a B class series.

Not that these levels matter to anyone who can hold even a below average CPI... as I said, the underlying issue here. You should be able to reasonably expect better racecraft due to higher license levels, but we all know that is not the case.

I don't think anything will change. The new Corvette DP competed against the HPD last season. Obviously the driving styles vary a little bit, but the formula will stay the same. Everyone will run the fast car to feel fast, and the lack of multiclass skill will cause fast cars to run over/through the slow cars.

I, personally, can't wait!!!!!!!!!! :D

iRacing IMSA is going down to 3 classes: Corvette DP, FGT and Cspec. Participation will obviously be high in the beginning with all the retards (quite literally, considering their average SOF is 1k) jumping into new DP, but yet still being 10sec off pace. I will personally get it too, but won't jump onto it right away. Would like to continue in FGT and hopefully see more people that wanted to run it, but didn't because races didn't go official.

Proto Challenge will probably relate to IMSA like GT3 related to GT1 when AM came out: fast/clean guys will stick to the car and follow it to wherever and have nice clean races, while low IR crazies will jump onto "new car" bandwagon and cause mayhem. Yes, GT3 has been much better since AM came out.

Real IMSA TUDOR Series (what iRacing models IMSA against):
4 Classes: PC, P, GTD, GTLM

PC - includes DPs, P2s from ALMS and DeltaWing (2014 spec)
P - LMPC from ALMS built by Oreca, Chevy engines on Continental tires
GTLM - GT from ALMS, same spec as Le Mans' GTE
GTD - modified FIA GT3 spec (different wing)

As of 2016, GTD will change to FIA GT3 spec wing but with restricted power to keep it behind GTLM.

All of this I gathered from people that did research into the topic as it's way too complicated for me to care.

Ah ok. I don't know why I didn't make the connection, but didn't realize it was the TUDOR series. Now I know what it is.

Thankfully, next season's twin ring is another night race. The BMW is just no match for the other cars yet again this week... it is really hurting my iRating sticking with it. But I'm not too worried about it. It's crap anyway.

I've seen quite a few fast BMWs in 2 races I did. I barely held off one of them. BMW excels in all the tight corners, specially in the faster ones. It just has that much more grip.

Next build, they'll do more BoP stuff, so should be back on par in terms of lap times, I hope.
