Like the Ruf needs more downforce.

I'm glad to see the weight penalties adjusted on the fraud and BMW. Maybe we'll see some better balance now?

BTW, I didn't miss the Dash in McLaren lol.

RUF needs more DF as it gets very very unstable after about 15-20 minutes into the stint. DF will also slow it down in straight line. Also... 2.5%...that's not a lot..

I agree with Dino. I think the Ruf was pretty crappy through faster corners, and obviously had a ridiculous advantage at high end speeds, so this should kill two birds with one stone in the BoP of it all.

Track rubber is built up under the tires in rough proportion to how hard they are working

This is interesting. I think this also means that if someone slides out of control across the track that there will be more rubber left on the track along their path.

Added a #fr fast repair macro, to check the fast repair box.

Woohoo, one-click macros are back for a full pit stop configuration. Looking forward to binding some of my button box buttons to these macros :)

You'll have to explain that one. Are these preset configurations you can set up Noel?

Really great to hear that about track rubber. It really seems that they've spent a ton of time on this and put a lot of realism into it. Thrilled to get home today and install the updates and give it a whirl. Hope everyone else will be on! Maybe put up a hosted session for a one hour race around a shorter track? Can't think of a good shorter road track off the top of my head.

Jefferson Reverse or of course, MID OHIO!

Barber has a pretty good short track configuration as does Brands Hatch.

Don't get too excited Kyle, the patch is not until tomorrow. :) Apparently they delayed it.

You'll have to explain that one. Are these preset configurations you can set up Noel?
Yes, in the in-game options you have a list of keys available which can be assigned to pit macros. That way you can use text commands to configure your pit stop, such as replace all 4 tires with 141 kPa, clear windscreen and take 35 L of fuel. Then you can just press the assigned key instead of manually fiddling with the black box while driving.

Here is a summary of the commands you can use and how they work: http://www.edracing.com/edr/iRacing-Macros.php

I'm using the option which clears all my pit actions when I leave the pits (or grid) so I find fuel/tires/windscreen macros quite useful.

Thanks Noel.

Bummer about having to wait, but super excited. Good for them to wait if needbe.

I also read in regards to how track conditions can be set up (rubbered in):
...or a session may be designated to follow immediately and inherit the track state from the previous session
This is perfect for the league. We'll be able to use the quali-race (and it's practice session) track conditions for the following official race session. Awesome!

Whoa, wait, what?

Am I reading this correctly?

I'm not trying to be purposely thick here but if we have two separate sessions we can carry over the track conditions from one to the next?

If that's true, that is just sick!

I'm almost tempted to vote for Okayama or COTA because of how slick they are (yes I hate both tracks).

Come to think of it, what are the slipperiest tracks in iRacing? There must be a difference because they're not all surfaced the same no?

Yes, track conditions can be set to carry over to the next session.
Yes, every track is different and has more/less grip than some other track.
I wouldn't expect drastic increase in grip as session goes on (aim high, expect low).

I think the most slippery tracks are the Japanese ones, Suzuka and Okayama. Maybe Laguna Seca too.

I wonder if you can see the amount of rubber on the track? If not, we'll be looking for the spots where the marbles aren't I guess.

Twin Ring Motegi? :)

And according to the Dynamic Tracks video from a few months ago, you'll be able to see it get rubbered in. About 2:20 into the video.

I haven't driven the Macca in a long while but it felt pretty stable to me... still doesn't like bumps but I felt pretty comfortable in the car.

Marbles seemed very slippery to me but took a test session at 90% worn in to really show it. A new session, if set low, or washed out, won't be much different it seems at all than how it was before. Can't wait to try a long race.

Anyone going to be running the C7 this season? I really want to give it a go and do some MC racing.
