iRacing YouTube Videos Feedback

I love posting these videos but lately I've been having a lot of races where I end up by myself in the field and IMHO, it makes for pretty boring videos.

Last night I raced Zolder in GT3 and recorded it and it was an absolute sleeper until about Lap 9 where a few cars got into it with one flying 40 or 50 ft in the air lol.

I also gridded 19th so I was back of the pack but managed to salvage a Top 10 in Top Split :icon_eek:

...consistency really pays off me thinks.

Anyway, I recorded it but require a bit of feedback because I'm really considering not publishing these types of races anymore.

Do you guys like the mix of action and slow stuff or is it better just to put up the more action packed races?

Thanks.

Perhaps just cut out the non action bits and replace it by a text screen stating for a few seconds; "During the next 7 laps I slowely managed to catch up to the car in front of me", and then contnue witrh the action bits?

I sneakily took a look at your results earlier and saw that you had a pretty good race. Nicely done in the top split.

I would think that chopped up videos showing mainly the highlights draw more general viewers. Full races are pretty good material to watch by people that are driving that car/track themselves so they can compare lines and lap times etc. But I think it's pretty boring for people that just want to see racing events (overtaking/crashes/pit stops etc.).
But then again, EmptyBox only posts full races so NT and I could be wrong.

Thanks for the feedback guys, much appreciated as always!

What I can do is post the entire race with running commentary (since it's already made) and simply split it into sections by onscreen queues such as click to skip to the action which will fast forward the video to the action bits.

This way I can still post full races however those that only want to see action are served it by simply clicking on the video when prompted.

I'll give it a try on this video and let you guys decide if it's a viable alternative.

That's actually a very good idea. If you use simple and small popups with text in them such as: "+4 laps: next battle" I think you get the best of both worlds. I guess it's not that much work either to do.

Nope, I can actually integrate it into the video much like a menu so people will know where to look and where to click to get to the action.

I absolutely hate those pop ups and semi hidden menu buttons in video's in. Put those in and I'd prob stop watching them, and unsubscribe as well!
OK, just kidding, that's actually a good idea indeed.

lol they won't be hidden at all and probably very similar to the Like, Favorite and Subscribe images I use at the end of all current YouTube videos.

This is just the best compromise I can come up with and certainly worth at least a try.
