Is Wolfgaming finally done?

Well, with me, I'll gladly give you my address and phone number (no anonymity), and what you see (and read) is what you get. No online/forum persona here :D Peace on brothers (and sisters) The king is dead, long live the king etc. etc. ;)

lol

The nice thing is that IE has gone from over 80% of all my websites total traffic to around 45 - 55% (site dependent) according to cPanel/WHM.

Hopefully it continues to tank because what IE needs is a wake up call. There are just too many better browser alternatives these days (Chrome, Firefox, Opera) that render code similarly enough to not break site functionality.

I'd bet if IE wasn't bundled with Windows here in North America, nobody would use it.

I'm sure there will be people dropping by that some people may not like being here but it's best not to ignore them. The whole idea of this site is fresh beginnings and if some people can't accept that what happened at wolf is in the past then they shouldn't be here. We are all just gamers trying to have a laugh at the end of the day, some people forget that.

I understand its a fresh beginning, but we dont have to like everyone that comes here. There are some names I simply will not want to spend time with and I dont think thats any different to RL. If you dont like someone...you wouldnt go bowling with them! Online..you simply wouldnt play games with them.

I dont think that means I shouldnt be here.

OK I think what's happening here is a few things are being taken out of context so there really is no need to continue on this thought.

This place isn't Wolf and while there were some things I really loved about that old Community, there were an equal amount of things I did not like or simply did not understand.

We are all individuals and as such we all have a unique set of thoughts, beliefs, morals, ideals, strengths, weaknesses, likes and dislikes; we should cerebrate this diversity.

Just because I don't agree with this person or that person doesn't agree with me, neither of us is better suited toward this Community. We don't need to see eye to eye on every little thing to be equal.

Being online means you WILL run into one of three types of people:
  1. Those you like
  2. Those you don't like
  3. Those you have no opinion on

...this will always be the case and will never change.

Yet the world wide web continues to live on, how is that so?

It's because some sites embrace the diversity and uniqueness of their membership and treat everyone equally. If I were fanning the flames on a sensitive manner, I would expect that my peers tell me to kindly stfu, simple.

Now it's a given that we won't like everyone we meet online but we also do not need to announce this fact. There are many forum controls that allow us to distance ourselves from one another just as there are forum controls that allow us to get closer to one another.

How you use them is up to you.

I think we can all agree that we took away some fond memories from Wolf but some of us have taken away some animosity as well. If you've read through one of my many rants you'd realize I'm one of the poster boys for hatred toward Wolf Ownership.

However, if Rob were to ever register here I would not ban him if you can believe that and I hate the guy as if he were poison (so much for not announcing lol).

Instead, I would treat him as any other member and should he start causing a raucous I would police said raucous, not Rob as an individual.

This is the way it works here and it's worked for several years at Lifesupporters.

In closing, if you like someone then please feel free to get to know them but if you see someone you don't like (which we all will sooner or later), please do your best to ignore them and NEVER call them out or cause a kerfuffle in an open forum.

...or better yet, try to at least understand them even if you can't see it their way.

Our membership currently seems to be inundated with many that don't want anyone harshing their mellow of which I too am a card carrying member; so lets do our best to put our best foot forward and move on.

And thats what I said I was going to do, I just didnt agree with what Anger said about NOT ignoring someone...

I mean its probably easier if I used Fireblade as an example.

If someone from WGN came here that Fb hates, I wouldnt say "be friends or leave" trying to make him be friends with someone he hates (yes thats a strong word but tis genuniely how he feels about some of them)...well you might as well put a live grenade in both his hands and let him go to town.

Point is...in some cases ingnoring someone is the safest route to take.

What some people move on from, others are still healing from.

This wasnt an intentionally drama episode. Just airing my thoughts about telling people to not ignore or essentially leave, sometimes in life there is certain people you wouldnt piss on if they were on fire, and you certainly cant be forced to!

Just to clarify Pepsi, as I know my brother doesn't get on here as much as me because he is so busy with work etc. he didn't mean yourself when he said about "not being here" he was just referring to people that may come here and cause problems, which I honestly can't see happening :) Just wanted to clear that up so you know what he meant, he would have told you the same himself, but he's working his @ss off atm. Just letting ya know :icon_cool: p.s. Hello LeJerk, another old schooler finds his way... I'm really amazed at how many of us from Wolf have ended up here, at least something good came out of it in the end :D

Nothing that is said or written online about me can touch me, i only care about the opinions that family and friends have of me.
As far as i know i haven't done anything in the past to offend anyone so if i did feel free to tell me, i'll consider it a learning moment and move on.
If people still want to play FH1 i can recommend the pixel-fighter community if you have the patience to download all of their custom maps... they are still pushing the limits of how the game can perform.
Other than that i haven't had much time to game, played a bit of the demo of BF3 and i seem to remember i liked it.

P.S posted this with Mozilla Firefox at work and could only use quick reply.

I think we're old enough to let grudges go as far as WGN is concerned. Most of us I'm sure only ever had problems with 2 people and we're unlikely to ever have to deal with them again. Its sad but time to put that stuff to bed, learn from the past and try not to repeat the same mistakes.

At least here the owner is an asshat, not an asshole.

OK now I know what you're talking about and indeed it does work that way but it is not a bug, according to vBulletin it's a feature:

https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php/381856-quick-reply-reply-to-thread-not-functioning

It was implemented sometime around vBulletin 4.1.4 and it's purpose is to get people using the Quick Reply Option for reasons unknown to me other than for the bandwidth it saves on larger sites.

If you want to use the + Reply to Thread option, you need to double click it and it will open up directly in the Advanced WYSIWYG Editor.

The only time + Reply to Thread works with one click is if your multi-quoting messages which I do all the time hence the reason I've never particularly noticed the issue.

This still does not explain however how you lost two posts previously though. :icon_neutral:

I'm so glad I don't have an inferiority complex or this place would have torn me to pieces already lol.

Well i installed firefox at home now so i think i will use that for a while to see if that works better.
I typed 25 lines in the quick reply and as soon as i hit submit the page froze and i would have to re-load the page, leaving me with an empty quick reply box and tears in my eyes.
Before i just had a fear of reading long posts, now i have the same with typing them.
Ah well fingers crossed it'l work this time.................

Sadly it would seem your posts aren't even making it to the moderating queue which means there not even making it to the database.

As far as the website is concerned, you've only made 6 posts as of this response.

Bizarre considering even a whitescreen will usually mean at least your post got recorded in the database and page refresh would return an error about "you cannot post so soon... or something similar.

I'll keep an eye on it.

Its ok Punishment, your brother is a long time friend of mine, I think hes wonderful! I know he didnt mean it on a personal level *hugs* tell him to take it easy for me! he doesnt wanna over-do-it!

It's a feature, brilliant. So with that said I would say that Duke is also a feature.
I second that!

...forums need a "like" button.
