Is Wolfgaming finally done?

It appears as if my latest Spam Controls may have helped keep the bots from even making it in the door so I may loosen up the current controls for a bit and see what happens.

Of course if any bots start making it in again and start spamming Guild Gold, Phentermine or pr0n, I'm locking it right back down.

I blame flamepin or firebubble or whatever he goes by these days.

next post should be a reply from him telling me to do something or to keep something shut, you can all fill in the curse word of choice.

Heres a few...Firefluff, Firefag, Firebubble, Firedouche....take your pick! I can create plenty more for him!

And Welcome Solo! I thinkt hat although a community is great playing together one game....one game doesnt keep a comunity going. There needs to be variety, the issue is, everyone needs to be able to play the next game, it doesnt work if a brand new game comes out and half the community cant afford it/have a decent enough machine to run it.

Luckily right now theres a lot of good games out that majority are able to play, like WarZ, DayZ, Planetside 2, Battlefield 3, Guild Wars 2...just to name a few,

Fireblade here,
I go by "Anal Sauce" now. And I don't want you to keep anything shut. I want you to open wide for the WHITE CACK OF JUSTICE.

Excellent point. And we've seen what the obverse does with what happened at Wolf. As long as we have small groups of folks playing the games others play, it should work fine even if everyone isn't playing all of the same stuff.

I miss the fun and excitement I found playing BF42 with JiF and FH1 with Wolf. The epic scale of battles and a dozen or so like minded individuals on teamspeak all having fun. Online gaming has become like cable TV with a myriad of offerings catering to many audiences. JiF still has a strong albeit small community gaming, but gone are the days when everyone was playing one game. We have a few playing this game and a few playing that with a lot of crossover as members organize various 'game nights'. JiF follows a 'situational leadership' model. Any JiF'er can organize a gaming activity under the auspices of "JiF" as long as they stay true to the core community values. I think that is part of why the community is still around.

I really like the squad concept that has come to many games. I don't care for the unlock concept. So gaming has evolved with many great games to choose from. It will be interesting to see if a game comes along that fires up the gaming community again with platform requirements that will allow an immediate following.

You can slice the JiF community almost as easily by technology as gaming interest. Some members just have older rigs and play the older games. Some have leading edge rigs and play the newest, greatest game out there. You can also slice it by location. The Europeans play in their time frame with some cross over with the North American contingent.

Organizations that provide value and meaning to their members will survive. Somewhere along the way for many reasons Wolf lost that. I commend the hard core group that tried to keep it alive for the right reasons, but too many people drifted away. It is hard to wait months for FH2 development when there are so many other tasty choices out there that you can play right now.

Glad to see so many of you are 'alive and well'. Sorry to still see some bitterness hanging around. We learn, we grow and move on. Then we die. Respawn and die, respawn and die, respawn and die. Those of you who have seen my playing style understand. :)

Welcome Tissueman, great to have you with us!

Sorry to still see some bitterness hanging around. We learn, we grow and move on.
I just want to comment on this if you don't mind.

I don't consider what you're seeing in this thread so much bitterness, hate or any other negative emotion as much as I see it purging or venting.

I say this because I can walk past the lemons at the supermarket unscathed. The only time I get a sour taste in my mouth is when I bite into one.

I believe you're seeing the same thing here. Wolf has left a lot of positive feelings and memories behind however the more colorful emotions bubble to the surface when those deemed responsible for it's unnecessary demise chime in here.

You can't move forward without putting the past behind you and that's all that we're doing here; at least that's how I choose to use this thread.

Duke, excellent points. Thanks for the welcome. People do process things differently and and different rates. Venting is a healthy response. I didn't mean to imply otherwise. I was responding more to the fact that there was a lot of damage done to others. It saddens me that something supposed to be fun (gaming) wasn't. I meant to focus on the good of what I remember from Wolf. I spent a lot of fun hours on Wolf because of the vast majority of the community members. Thanks for the clarifying point. And again thanks to the community that provided me so much fun.

It's all good Tissue, I'm really just glad you found us to be perfectly honest :)

In all fairness, this thread is now 27+ pages long and regardless of how it's being used, it's brought plenty of good people together once again. From that standpoint alone, it's more than served its purpose IMHO regardless of how one chooses to use it.

Is this where I should post my complaints regarding your stress balls?

My balls have been exceptionally stressed, so much so, that they eventually burst. I need better balls, that can handle the stress. Do you manufacture better balls?

If so, where can they be aquired, and at what cost? Is delivery included? Do you have 2 day shipping?

Signed,
Milton

P.S. It is good to see some old friends, WOLF was the first forum I ever joined, not just gaming community. I miss the days of FH 1. I wonder where and what many of you have been up too (except Goog :p ).

Sorry googel, tell your bearded sister that I have been taken. Though I dream of her beard sparkling like glitter in the moonlight.
Oh you mongrel.

Wish ye all a merry christmas... Before I forget about it.

It appears as if the new owners of Wolfgaming may need to use some of their own product. The site is now an error page so I wonder if it fell flat as well?

...hmmn, maybe they prostituted themselves to create an EA stress ball and it tore their site apart.

I'm guessing a few stress balls were hungry!

Are there any archives of the site anywhere?
You can still find it archived here, not every page works though. You can also go through the different dates here.
