I am using Joel's Real Timing for my pit stop fueling. Most of the time it works great, but other times I will come up short on completing a VRS GT Sprint race after the pit stop by 1/2 a lap or so. It happens at Brazil, and Monza. Since I had this problem before, i changed the setting to add 2.5 spare laps excess fuel, and had it use the last 5 laps for calculations, but it still happened at Monza. Has anybody else had a similar problem, use a better app, or have a fix? I know iRacing has a forum for this, but it only has a million entries and I'm lazy.

I use Fuel Buddy but seldom rely solely on the numbers it gives me. I always have it calculate worst fuel usage and always add to that number in the Race as well.

If I decide to add more fuel during the Race it's always due to something happening during the race such as fast Drivers up front possibly extending the Race by a lap, draft of lack thereof, frequent heavy on/off throttle usage, etc.

I have mine set to calculate the last 5 laps for fuel average. I usually take the recommended fuel plus 1.5 to 2 laps extra of fuel. I haven't had a problem. Maybe im not as aggressive on fuel?

I used to use Fuel buddy and then I discovered irPitCrew.

What a great, light weight app that is simple to use and very versatile. For most sprint races that require a drop of fuel, just let it run in the background, make sure tires are set off, and it monitors the entire race and then when I hit the pit in line, it sets the fuel I need automatically to finish the race. No work / thinking required. Just the way I like it.

Thanks for everyone's input. I unchecked the "last 5 lap consumption" so that it would calculate on the last lap and successfully completed the last race with just 1 pit stop (and .4 laps of fuel left). You would think that if I have it set for adding an extra 2.5 laps of fuel I would be good no matter where the lead car is, but maybe it doesn't. Daunt, i'm looking into the irPitCrew app now, however I do like all the info that JRT provides. I would rather not be messing with the pit adjustments while racing, I'm bad enough as it is.

With irPitCrew you literally do nothing while racing. Not a single thing. It is all automated. At the beginning of the race, make sure your tires are unchecked (or checked if you want) and it does the rest. From calculating, to adding the fuel needed, it's all done automatically.

There are hotkeys if you wanted to suddenly take tires for example but I never needed it.
