Skill gain: 100x
Day Cycle: 4 Real time hours
Crafting Cycle: 60 seconds
Animal Count: 75

We welcome all players to start their Medieval Lifes with us. All game mechanics are allowed but serious griefing will be punished with a kick and/or ban.

What do we consider serious griefing:
-Building objects to obstruct other people's work.
-Insulting people for no reason and foul language in voice, local and global chat.
-Cheating, hacking and bug-abusing the game.

Get caught with violating these once and you will be kicked. Get caught with these several times and you will be banned.

Please keep in mind that this is still an early-access/alpha game and we'll do our best to keep the server updated on the spot once an update is released.

Since there were some database changes from last patch that did not fully integrate into our server.
And today or tomorrow there's a new patch with tons of fixes and hopefully some additions incoming,

The server will be wiped for the new patch deployment.

Skill cap will return to the max 3000, with a super high increased skill gain in order to continue testing and building.

It seems that this will be the way during progression in development of this game and we'll settle on more stable ruleset once we're getting closer to release.

Has interest died down here for LiF? Not seen anybody playing it the past few days.
i'm still playing/testing it on a daily basis. But the state of the game and missing or blocking features are not really "that" inviting for the moment, this is a real case of early-alpha-pre-access.

Anyways, server has been wiped and updated to latest 0.2.2.0 patch this morning.

Patch notes:
- Added a proper functionality for servers browsers (favorites, direct IP connect, etc)
- console can now be toggled with CTRL + ~. That should allow usage of special letters in some languages
- You can now use Tailoring to craft different outfits and clothes
- Fixed "infinimoose" bug, that allowed you to skin animal corpses after each server restart
- Fixed notorious client initialization crash with different 7.1 audio devices. Fixed some crashes that were related to the change of audio devices
- Added some more workarounds to fix an issue when a laptop discrete video card was not used for rendering. Removed misleading video adapter option from Video Options. (Do not forget to update your drivers!)
- Added Z-axis animals attack check. Animals should no longer be able to hit you if you're above them (on a wall, watchtower etc)
- Fixed a bug when someone entering observe or construction mode would interrupt everyone's actions in the vicinity.
- Fixed some exploits that allowed you to spam certain abilities without cooldowns, which resulted in a faster skill/stats progression
- Some server and client side crashes and leaks fixed
- Tweaked interface and freelook sequences
- Most of game settings should now be properly saved instantly and client crash should not reset them
- Tweaked Coop animals breeding rates, so they can actually breed before they die
- Tweaked overpowered pitchforks to be less overpowered :)

Server is wiped with the following settings at restart:

Skill cap : 3000
Skill gain rate: 100
Terraforming speed: 60
Wild animal count: 100 (I've tried setting this higher, but for the moment it seems that the game is having 100 as a hard limit)
Crafting period timer: 60 seconds
Animal breed timer: 20 minutes
Day Cycle: 3 hours

Very nice guys. Taking a bit of a break, as I do with all alpha's that I've purchased in the last year and currently playing a classic Super Nintendo game called Uncharted Waters 2 on Steam. It's nothing fancy but my laptop runs it great! I played the original some 20 years ago (I still even have the old maps I made!) so this is more for nostalgia than anything.

Spot on there, even with enormous high rates of skill gain, it still takes a shitload of time and "work" to get the mats together to actually build something.
In vanilla settings teamwork in a big team/guild is a must.

I was playing a little Rust a few days ago with Mad Dog, what a massive improvement it has become. Still alpha though. I'd like to give LiF another go, I'll keep an eye out for when you're all playing it.
