Back when I had a ton of time on my hands, I overhauled a great 32x pack to my own liking. In my opinion, 32x is the way to go, as it keeps it true to vanilla's pixel style, but adds a bit more options for styling / design.

So I made this pretty big pack... the highlight is the animations... it features awesome animations like shining / sparkling gold ore, diamond ore, emerald ore blocks. Along with ore blocks, the compact redstone, diamond, emerald, and other compact material blocks have a shiny finish that really adds to it. On top of this, a lot of items have their own animations. Redstone dust and glowstone dust glows - a bit like a slow pulsation, gold ingots, diamonds and emeralds have a sparkle or two, and some other items have other unique animations.
