You guys with new PCs are making me jealous. I was playing on a 64 player BF3 server with some of you guys earlier and it was pretty slow on my computer.

If I upgrade, it will be a whole new setup. The tech is too old probably to get a decent boost from my motherboard/ram etc...

Yeah LeJerk, I'm assuming you have the great but outdated Intel socket 775 when you mentioned duo-core2 on teamspeak last night. I had one too for years but new it was time to upgrade everything in June 2010.

This is what I would do if I were you. If you got the coin, go Intel. You can't beat it. You don't even need an i7, just an i5 (i5 has no hyperthreading), unless you use programs that utilize it.

If you don't got the coin but enough to still put a pc together, go amd. AMD is slower but a LOT cheaper. It's still pretty good stuff.

Unless you get an AMD CPU that arrives with half the pins bent in more than one direction.
The choices suck, RMA or fix it yourself. One you have to wait for two weeks the other you can do in a few hours but will be half blind after straitening them out.

You can get a really good deal on 1155's right now and have a beast of a computer once done.
