These are the qualifying results for the upcoming 12 hours Masters of Endurance race at Road America.

I'm driving with Pure Racing Team II. I had expected quite a bit of competition but a difference of 1.0 second at a 2+ minute track between position 9 and 60 is just ridiculous.

Fords were allowed, however it's very slow compared to other cars so you would severely limit your speed in that car.

Should be an interesting race Saturday (starts 12.00 GMT). I will post some details here before that in case anyone is interested.

Wow that is amazing. Should be a really good race. I will definitely tune in to this... do you plan to stream? Do you know when your stint is?

Really goes to show how great the sim can be. Best of luck to you!

I don't plan to stream because I barely have enough FPS to offer to iRacing itself. The organisation will have a stream up, along with live timing. I'm not sure which channel on Youtube, I think it might be Simrace.tv.
It is also possible that our team might set up a stream, I can link it when I know more.

I'll be starting the race on grid position 40 (nervous already) and most likely do a 2 hour stint from 12.00 - 14.00 GMT. Then I'll be driving again around 18.00 GMT.

Thanks for the lucks.

Don't blame you on the stream. Though for me I think it's more a worry of bandwidth. I've not tried but don't think it will go over that well. Besides, I'd probably be boring as hell to listen to, if I could even manage more than heavy breathing with the occasional swearing.

Would be nice to see a personal team stream. Let us know. I will probably catch your second stint. I don't want to get up thaaaaat early on a sunday to catch your first.

Yes, it's a bit early for America :p. But it's not on Sunday, it's Saturday.

There won't be a Pure Racing stream but the whole race will be broadcast on www.simrace.tv (Channel 2). The race time is from 12:00 to 23:59 GMT on Saturday.

There will also be live timing in addition to the stream, probably on www.mastersofendurance.net.

I'm not sure if spectating will be available but it might fill up quickly if it is.

The Google document that I linked in my first post now also contains a lap of Enzo Bonita's pole lap. The point of view is a bit unfortunate but it's incredibly fast :p

I don't know if it's just me, but the feed seems to be terrible. (From simrace.tv) You guys should look into a team stream.

But good job to your team thus far. I see you guys are in 39th I think.

Yeah, the stream is not great quality. Live timing seems to work well (http://mastersofendurance.net/livetiming/) though.

I have noticed your edit :p. We were indeed 19th at the end of a stint but then our second driver drove past the pit stall and had to use a tow :D. Currently, our third driver is doing the 2nd half of his stint and it looks like we'll be below 30 again at the end of that.

I'll be driving again at about 18.15 GMT. I have been behind a really hard-to-pass McLaren for a long time in my first stint so I hope I'll get some open road then.

I think we may have an advantage in pit strategies. We have been doing at least 28 laps per fuel tank (about 1 hour) so we may get away with 1 less pit stop than many other teams, especially BMW's.

The stream quality is pretty good for me but the framerate is a bit dodgy and the screen flashes every 10 or so seconds.

I should have had this running on our Twitch Stream I think.

Ah! I thought I caught the wrong Pure Racing team! It is tough to follow. Definitely consider a team twitch stream or something next time, maybe whomever is not driving or spotting currently can stream.

The graphics and whatnot for their series are amazing. I love their overlays and broadcast stuff. Quality stuff... if only my feed weren't shit.

We were up to position 18 before our second driver braked on the grass, spun and hit a car + the wall. The car had to be towed back but the wheels were so bent that after the full 12 minutes of repairs it was still undrivable.

Too bad but at least we know we were fast enough for a top 20.

Great experience though, running in such a long race.

Oh yeah, I should mention that I drove 2 hours with malfunctioning force feedback in my second stint :|. Something went wrong when I booted up iRacing. For the first hour I had 0 force feedback. Duke, you know how scary that is :p. Then, during the pit stop I plugged my G27 power plug out and back in. Now I did have some force feedback but also a huge dead zone in which I had still no feedback.

Before the start they organized a complicated reverse gridding procedure where they let all cars exit pits in reverse order of their qualify time. In iRacing you can't manually set the grid spots.
At some point we had to wait before the finish so that the fastest guy could pass the finish first. Apparently, if you stand still too long your engine can explode. Which happened to at least one car :). Eventually the procedure worked and we could start the race.

Ah that sucks. Good to hear that you guys were still doing well. Sounds like it involved a lot of planning and strategy. Hope to see a team feed next time.

The results for the qualifying of round #2, Suzuka, are in. Once again, the times are very close and even more cars participated than round #1.

MoE Qualifying Round 2 -- Suzuka

To make the top 60, any team had to be faster than a low 1:58, while the average qualifying time for the GT3 series here was around mid to high 1:59's, with similar weather. Some teams got into the top 60 with a slower time but they were guaranteed a spot by finishing in the top 30 at Road America.

I managed to place us 23rd on the grid so I'm expecting a lot of action from the start. Staying on one set of tires for around 60 minutes is going to difficult in the McLaren.

Enzo Bonito set an impressive pole time of 1:56.5. A video of that should be up soon.

Oh I guess it's that time where Noel shows us how shitty of a driver we all are. Now with newest addition of a track we just ran at so we know how human we all are!!

No but really that is crazy. Great job on the qualify!

Hehe, yeah sorry about that. Many of the drivers (including me) practice a lot more for these races though than during a GT3 week, just because gaining 2 tenths can possibly get you 20 positions.

We're driving with only the two of us on Saturday. The race is from 16:00 - 22:00 GMT and my teammate, Lars Conrad, will probably stream it. I'll post the link to twitch before the race.
