There is one if you hover over the forum button on the blog page, but so far it didn't seem to work for me (it never finds new posts even when I know theree new ones on the forum).

Yeah, Its never really worked. It's practically the only button I used on PhpBB based forums.

I'd posted about this in another topic asking for feedback but since none was given I assumed it was working.

Can you navigate to the Blog and under "Forum" select the "New Posts" option from the dropdown menu?

I've never used this feature, but just trying it now this is what it gives back upon pressing the drop down option;

"Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms."

OK I think I understand the problem as its linked to vBulletins Session ID nonsense.

This may take some time to figure out because it's a dynamic value.

In the meantime I'll see if I can find a quick work around but please be advised this may take me a few days and I will need you all to post your links when using the New Posts Button.

Thanks little P.

OK there's 2 problems, one is vBulletins Session ID's and the other is Wordpress is stripping code from the links:
  • What I need: activity.php{session.sessionurl_q}
  • What I'm getting: activity.phpsession.sessionurl_q
I'll try to create something manually in vB but it will take me some time to figure out.

On phpbb forums it's usually at the top of the forum list which is why I never even knew we had one here. I have a bookmark to the forum directly and hardly ever go to the homepage or blog etc.

Mondo we used to have a New Posts Button here for years.

The old Fragtard theme had it directly below the top navigation bar and it's been enabled since day one lol.

I had to remove that entire subnav bar as I couldn't get it to work within the confines of the new layout.

I'm hoping I can either strip it's code or re-purpose it as a dropdown for the new menu aesthetic.

I'm stupid, I thought you knew that.

I moved to the band of others theme when we you made it, I thought I was helping in my own remedial way. Just a button somewhere that doesn't need any navigation, other than being on the forum root would be perfect. It annoys the shit out of me that I have to actually look for new posts other than the 5 on the side bar.

The new posts at the blog section now works for me.. I wish it was in the forum section though. Still, it seems to work now :)

It will be, it's just going to take me some time given how vastly different the two menus operate.

I can just drop the links into Wordpress and have them work, vB requires both coding and styling to work and is a pain in the ass.

Yeah I fully understand Duke, for now this is a good solution, I bet you have your priorities cut out for you anyway. So far so good, it's been a smooth transition from my point of view for sure! Keep up the good work!
