New "Surround" Monitor Suggestions

So obviously, the first thing you do when you get your first 144hz monitors is go into your display settings and change your monitors to 144hz. I did that, and two of my three screens started blinking like crazy and then came up with an input message as if there was no input cable. So shut down the PC and they all came back and worked fine. Awesome.

Today, I was in playing around with the settings and when I checked the refresh rate, it had reset to 60hz. This time, I undid NVIDIA Surround and changed the refresh rate on each monitor individually. The same thing happened. Right monitor is fine. Middle and Left monitor blink and blink and blink, and then go out. I restarted the PC, and now the middle monitor has joined the right monitor. At 144hz, everything seems to be okay. However, my Left monitor continues to flicked on and off. It will be black for a while, and then turn on for a few seconds, and then go black again.

Are you using display port connections for your monitors Marc? I've had flickering monitors before and it always seems to happen when the PC comes out of sleep or screensaver mode. So I just disabled both and don't have the issue.

Zac,

Here is the info I have for graphics. I am running Windows 7

Display Settings
Display - 1. DellS2716DG (Display port)
Res - 7680x1440
At multiple displays choice is show desktop only on 1

Nvidia Control Panel
Config 3 all in display ports, none in HDMI
Check spand displays with Surround
res at 7680x1440
Refresh at 144Hz
Depth at 32 bit

iRacing graphics
res at 7680X1440@143.964
UI zoom 100%
3 screens multi projection
Detail on high on all except medium on pits, particles: low on crowds
shadow volume off
max cars at 20
higher detail in mirrors is off
shader quality at higher detail
2096 MB for GPU Video Memory
6084 64bit max memory

I do not have a problem with my monitors blinking, sometimes the two sides go into sleep mode, but never when I am in iRacing

Sometimes I need to redo my Nvidia config, so be sure and memorize your settings for the order of the screens and orientation.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need any other info :)

Thanks @Deb! As of now, it looks like at least one, maybe two, of my 10' DP cables are bad. 85hz worked fine, but at 100hz+ the monitor would blink until it cut out completely. I grabbed the DP cables that came with the monitors, and so far they seem to be running a stable 144hz. Unfortunatley, at 6', there isnt much room to cable manage, and the factory cables arent locking DP cables, which is weird since that is one of the big things that DP users have touted over HDMI. Not really sure whether to try buying another set of cables, or not. Hate to drop the money on another set. Might still call Dell on Tuesday and ask them what their opinion is.

I believe I used the DP cables that came with the monitors as well, no problems, don't worry much about them locking, no one messes with the rig other than me.

I know NVidia had some driver issues when using more than one 144 Hz monitor (or was it 1440p)? and perhaps multiple cards. I think some relatively recent drivers might have fixed it though...
