Nurburgring 24 - B2O Teams iRacing

I agree. I think due to lack of interest/need for consolidation, we need to eliminate the MX-5 and the Kia as possiblities.

Anyone that was interested in driving those cars is welcome to jump to a different car (Audi or C-Spec) but are not forced to do so. It seems that we will have 2-3 teams total.

As mentioned before, I'd like to see one more Audi driver. I think if we also had one more C-spec driver we could probably safely make 2 teams of C-spec as well.

OK it's looking like this might be the finalized list.

So we're going to have:
1 Audi Team: Duke, Peeble, and myself
1 C-Spec Team: Noodle, Incdnry, Justin, Zac, Davey

There are two Saturday time slots: 8am Eastern and 12pm noon eastern.

Audi Team - Peeble & Duke
Due to a prior engagement (the belle isle grand prix), I'll be unavailable until probably 6pm-ish. For you two, do you both feel comfortable to get the car around track for ~10-12 hours just the two of you, or possibly it might be a smarter idea going for the noon race. Not to mention you guys are both western time zoners, so being there for an 8am start is actually what, 5am for you Duke?

C-Spec Team - Noodle, Incndry, Justin, Zac, Davey
I'm not sure if you guys want to swing 2 C-Spec teams but at five, unless everyone wants at least 6-8 hours of driving with two teams, one team seems to be the way to go. Would be up to you guys how you want to handle it / if you want more driving hours or less.

I am not in for a heavy load of driving for this one, and from past experiences in 24hr races I tend to think 6 is a good number of drivers to have for a single team, as so often real life can get in the way and pull someone out late or, more likely during the event. I'd suggest that you should have enough drivers with availability to cover if at least one, possibly two of them had to cancel last minute.

I'll be able to run some stints on the Saturday as early as 10am or 11am EST to as late as maybe 1am-2am Sunday morning.

I seem to recall that a C-spec fuel tank takes longer than a driver swap, so we have nothing to lose from doing single stints for anyone who prefers that. Also fuel and tyres are taken simultaneously so it is a fairly quick stop compared to a full fill and tyres in the GT3 category.

I am out of the house this Saturday morning through afternoon but if there's a team practice in the evening I should be available.

I'm ok to start for either time slot but I'm really having second thoughts on this one. 3 Drivers is just not enough for a 24 hour event.

I'm not as young as I once was so so 8 hours of anything is getting more and more difficult.

We desperately need at the very least one more Driver.

I think we can do 3 drivers. Thankfully we will coordinate so it's not 8 hours straight so it should be a lot more manageable. I personally have the weekend to myself, so following my Belle Isle race, I'll be available for the entirety. Granted sleep (lack thereof) will certainly come into play.

I've said multiple times 4-5 is the sweet spot and is certainly preferred, in my opinion, for a 24h event, and so I have not yet finalized the teams, hoping for 1 or 2 stragglers to jump on, even to contribute 2-3 hours driving time.

So either we even the C-Spec team out if someone would be willing to jump from that to the Audi, to make it an even 4 per team (4 for Audi, 4 for C-Spec) or see if anyone else would like to get in on the action.

You think we can do 3 Drivers because you're substantially younger than I am lol.

The last 24 hour event I was completely exhausted and it took a few days afterword to recover from that messed up sleep schedule.

Please ask in League tonight if someone else is interested in running GT3.

I would but I won't be able to make League tonight unfortunately.

I certainly will ask around to see what we can do, old man. :D

Really though have 4-5 drivers is definitely the preferred route. Also keep in mind I probably won't do the schedule to have backup drivers on hand, so that might also help with exhaustion. Having 2 drivers in-game ready to go at all times isn't feasible with 3-4 drivers.

I think 5-6 is good for one team, like you guys mentioned we don't wan't to over exhaust ourselves and that seems to be a good number in case anyone doesn't show for some reason. I'm going to be working on a schedule so anyone running the c spec please send me your preferred stint and co-driver times. I'll copy the basic template that way our Gt-3 and KIA team can fill theirs in.

I'm going to get in touch with Naid from Crimson Simulation and see if it's possible to do a couple stints down at the sim lab and hopefully stream it as well. He mentioned before that if I felt like doing some racing down there to give him a heads up and I feel it would bring some awesome publicity to our community and his business as well. Pondering on doing it on the motion rig which I surprisingly feel more comfortable on then my home setup. Would just need a few

Would just need a few hours in-between stints to get home unless he's cool with a 24 hour Marathon down there.

If that happens, I'd prefer to have a couple afternoon/evening stints, and can do late night. I'd like to have at least 4 hours of driving starting with a double stint and 2 more while I'm at the sim center depending if it's a go I'll update you guys tomorrow on it when I get in touch with Naid. Probably get an hour or so of final practice race day to get situated with the different setup.

My weekends are pretty booked up until race day but I'll be sure to get lots more practice in. Once we get closer wouldn't mind splitting our typical Practice Pals sessions.

We are in dire need of a fourth driver for team B2O Audi. (And perhaps even fifth if we can find one) So you're a welcome addition Steve. I know it's a bit early but if you have any idea odd your availability, please let us know so we can draw up a schedule. Also are you GMT +1? The other three of us are all USTZ so that will definitely help us out.

I'm going to have some time open up here for the next month. It would be sweet to run the C-Spec if possible as I have no plans of purchasing the Audi in the next month. Six drivers on a team sounds good to me and single, one-tank stints are all I would be interested in for myself. I don't want to leave the door open for brain fade leading to a crash on my part. No goals or limits on drive time for me. I just want to be a team player and do whatever the team needs. Someone wants to do more stints then fine by me. Let me know what y'all think!:)

So we're up to 4 drivers in the Audi & 6 in the C-Spec, as Ken continues to panic.

I finally got some good practice in to myself to almost finalize my learning process of the track. Still a bit to get down pat (mainly the section between the carousels) but still. Here's my hot lap... race pace I'm sure I will be at the very least a few seconds off this and I'm totally OK with that. Attached is my setup. Lap time was 8:33.8

Nice lap Kyle. I think you actually hit most of the apexes :). With a bit of work on your line (like you said, especially after the carousel) I can easily see you shave quite a bit more time off.

So I guess this answers my question as to whether or not attaching .sto files works? I wonder why I couldn't get it to work in vBulletin, it's the same process lol.

I may put up a 2 hr session this Wednesday night as well if anyone is interested.

Thanks Noel. Getting there slowly but surely.

Actually that was a zipped Sto, before I even mentioned that it didn't work, so I have yet to try it since. I may be up for jumping on for a short while.

I could jump into the Audi team if there are still spots open. I am really excited to run the 24 and hope to be able to join in on the B2O action here.

I wanted to run the Kia since I plan on running it in VLN, but the lack of drivers is kind of lame, so the Audi will have to do.

Cheers guys

Another driver is a godsend pretty much Chris, so thank you! 5 drivers is more than enough so that we don't die (of exhaustion).

Chris and Steve, what is your availability that day, and your TZ? I will be drawing up a schedule this week.
