If i had to pick between the two I'd go with the Oculus, I'm seriously considering it one day but really have no need for it right now with that price tag. I'd rather invest in track ir before vr.

They're both useful, maybe trackir is more useful in terms of making you faster / better. Maybe. But the reason I'd do either, and especially VR is from an immersion standpoint only. If I do get faster because of it, sweet, but feeling like I'm actually in a car is what matters most.

With TrackIR you can't accidentally put your hand in your cup of tea when attempting a quick sip. Occulus is a different matter.
