I never dedicated a thread to the Porsche Caymen GT4 car when it was announced last September, but iRacing has now officially shown off the car in-sim confirming it for the March Build!

This car will flesh out the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenege series as the faster "GS" or "Grand Sport" class over the "TCR" class Audi R4 TCR.

GT4 cars include the Traction Control and Anti-lock Brake Systems of their GT3 big brothers, but feature around 400+/- Horsepower (100 less than GT3) and significantly less downforce.

Top-Speed estimates put GT4 cars around 260kmh (160 mph) at Daytona and GT3 cars around 280kmh (175 mph) at Bathurst.

Lap-time Comparisons
Daytona:

IMSA GTD (GT3): 1:45.367
MPCS GS (GT4): 1:54.5
MPCS TCR: 2:00.208

Bathurst:
GT3 Pro: 2:03.434
GT4: 2:16.812

Finally, if you want to watch some MPCS action, IMSA is uploading full-race broadcasts ander they're aired on TV (usually a couple weeks after the actual race.)

The "NASCAR K&N Chevy Impalla Pro Car" is the next car to recieve the New Damage Model!

This car is similar to mid-2000's NASCAR Cup (iRacing A-class) car, but I believe it was introduced to iRacing to represent the 2000-2011 NASCAR Grand National (iRacing B-class) car before they too switched to the "Gen5-COT", or as it's know in iRacing, "[Archive] Nationwide Chevrolet Impala - 2011. After that, iRacing modified its performance to mimic the K&N Pro Series, (Think of it like iRacing's fifth series behind the ARCA Menards Series) which is both a national feeder to NASCAR's top-3 series, as well as being broken up into a more accessible regional starter series "K&N Pro Series -East/West". The series just introduced the NASCAR modern "Gen6"(think current iRacing A-cars) bodies in the last few years but you can still spot some smaller teams utilizing these older bodies, at least through last year.

If anyone IS interested in getting into NASCAR-Style "big-oval" racing this series is the perfect D-Level series as it regularly visits NASCAR's top circuits while also throwing in a few short-track events as well.

That does make purchasing tracks for the series somewhat confusing, if you're on a budget, so if you just want NASCAR content, steer clear of buying any short-tracks that aren't Bristol Motor Speedway or Matinsville Speedway! And, as always, when in doubt feel free to ASK! I'm happy to help anyone navigate the store, because, unlike Road, just because all the ovals LOOK the same, they are definately, definitely NOT the same (unless... like, a couple ARE kind of the same... but.. like... no two ovals are exactly alike, but there are some that are so similar...*sigh*).

Look, Oval racing can be fun, and can be beneficial to teaching you how to be smooth, patient, and consistent, which carries over to ALL forms of Motorsport. This is a D-class Oval-series, so you're eligible right out of Rookie, features longer races (50-70 miles or more), FIXED-setups, a wide variety of race tracks, and stresses tyre-management. The car was the first NASCAR to feature NTM7 AND now you're wheels can fall off! Hooray New Damage Model (I think you get a "Fast Repair")! Looks good, though, I do really like it, I promise!

I know this "Pro Car" (What the actual $#!+ @Fromthenavy? "Pro Car"? Is that an actual thing? As if trying to explain the difference between "Hobby Stocks", "Modifieds", "Pro-Stocks", "Late
Models", and "Stock Cars" to non-oval and new racing drivers wasn't #$@%&@+ hard enough already....), like most oval content, isn't popular within our community, but I figured I'd go ahead and add it since they did announce it for Season 2.

Also, an intersting additional note; some insight into the back-end/iRacing development came from iRacing's Steve Myers who said they were ready to roll this New Damage Model out 6 months ago, but they weren't happy with it, so they withheld it and continued to improve it for 6 months.

Sometimes I don't understand the terminology which oval racing labeling cars, back when I was in karts they were also called Quarter Midgets, and then there were Quarter Midgets that were much more like Quarter Midgets but they weren't actual Quarter Midgets.
It was confusing, my current car used to be a "Pro-Stock" but now it's racing under a Late Model Sportsman but there are so many differrent types of late models and It just has to do with which rule book they fall under. Mine was a coil over suspension but we made it big spring so it races in a sportsman class but with other divisions like the "ACT" (American Canadian Tour" they run a traditional coil over setup, same goes with the GSPSS (Granite State Pro Stock Series) and then there is the PASS tour that are super late models. I don't understand why it has to be this difficult when we're just trying to drive in circles and be simple minded folk.

This was announced in the Sebring special event thread almost ten days ago but I didn't see it.
