Hello all,
As some of you may have noticed, there is now a Twitch Player toward the bottom of the main forum as well as the Forum Category and Main Forum Topic pages.
I'll be testing this setup for the next few weeks just to work the kinks out and then decide on a more permanent location later.
Some settings of note:
Default volume setting of 25%: Can be muted if you do not wish to hear it. The player should remember this value from whatever volume adjustment you make and remain that way for the duration of the stream.
At this time I'm unsure of whether or not that's a permanent change or if it's just stream specific?
Default Play value of Autoplay: This means that the video will autoplay when you visit the forum and this setting is by design. If you wish to not see the video, simply Pause the stream and that should be the end of it.
The reasoning behind this setting is that moving pictures draw the eye more than static images such as on our YouTube Player.
...
Of the two settings above the only one I'm married to is the Autoplay, initial volume is up for discussion.
There's been times where I've visited sites and abruptly left as audio was playing so I don't want that to be an issue here.
Incidentally, there may be a way for me to integrate the Twitch Chat next to the player onsite but I'd like to hear from you all on the matter. This would likely make the player smaller and less intrusive while adding an interactive element to merely viewing the stream.
Personally I think anything that has us talking to one another is a good thing so the more interactivity and stuff to do, the better.
Please share your thoughts.
