PC Benchmark thread

Cinebench R15. Nice quick little lightweight program. It's a cpu test, does OpenGL as well. Run that test too if you want although Cinebench isn't the bestest GPU benchmark program. Mostly interested in CPU results. Other good benchmark programs open for suggestion if some of us wanna partake.

Discussion & Comparison thread over at Overclock.net using Cinebench: http://www.overclock.net/t/1431032/t...r15-cpu-scores

Run it using all cores then go into file--->preferences and change the renderer to 1 core, I would like to see what just a single core does too. Keep in mind I have the PC overclocked to 3.72 from the stock 3.33... so it's pretty mild. I would change it back to factory settings but I'm lazy and don't want to possibly screw it up when setting it back to 3.72 (as I've done in the past).

Specs:

i7 Gulftown 980 6 core 3.33 Ghz OC'd to 3.72
12 Gb DDR3
780 GTX SLI

My numbers:

All Cores: 859 cb
Single core: 114 cb
OpenGL: 91.98 Fps

Just curious how the old 6 core of mine stacks up these days against new 4 & 6 cores.

Here ya go :)

Specs:

i7 4790K
4GB DDR3 (but still :) )
AMD R290X

Everything is running at factory default settings

Alright, thanks for the input guys. It's looking like my 6 core is now the equivalent of a new 4 core except in single threaded use where my processor loses bad. As expected.

Wappy's results should be very interesting.

I've always used firestrike as a benchmark, does GPU and CPU... I'll run this at some point if you still want though.

Got 137 for single run.

I have no idea if these numbers are good or not for the hardware lol

No overclocks, all bog standard for this test.

Yeah seems about right for the cpu, but i wonder why the fps is lower than mine, it should be higher with the 970 no?

It might be because you have PCI-3, Little P & myself do not, using PCI-2. I'm thinking that's why our FPS are lower than they should be.

Just a theory...

Yeah I read that it would throttle it, but it's only supposed to be a tiny insignificant amount. I guess for a single GPU it does a good job. I must say the GPU benchmark is not the best, as Kitty already said. With the AAA benchmarks for GPU's I get much better results, probably because they are using the latest GPU technology?

Not sure.

I did still have to buy my GPU some flowers and a get well soon card though after it read this thread ;)

I'll have a little poke around to make sure nothing is wrong, I did build this rig myself after all :p

That's a fair point there Kitty, didn't even cross my mind before you said it.

I think there's nothing to worry about P, we can always compare results from other benchmarking apps that do utilize full GPU capacity.

If you've got suggestions i'm all ears.

It took a little bit of time, but the new system is finally built and running. Here's the results, everything is still at stock settings.

Thanks for taking the time Wappy and quite impressive. I don't think I'll be doing any upgrades this year though, gotta used car to buy in cash and the ol' pc still does quite well. I'm up north at the oilsands for the next 6 - 8 weeks so won't be on :(

According to this my G1 is underperforming, but according to this so is everyone's 970... I'm actually worried I may have a defective card now
