It started freezing up on me :( every time I tried to do anything like install a program or even as a test watch a pootube video it was jerking all over the place. I'm currently putting the old gfx card back in to see what happens :( gutted. Also when I took the case side off the cpu fan, rear fan and psu were red hot. But the 650ti was cool. Idk what's going on :_(

I was using win 7 64 bit before, a friend said my motherboard may not support this card but on teamspeak I had several people tell me it would be fine so it can't be that can it? Mobo is Asus M2N SLI Deluxe

So this is an example of what was going on.

I've uninstalled the nvidia drivers and removed the 650ti, then reinstalled the gt430 and drivers (which installed MUCH quicker) all the while being able to do other things no problem.

Restarted pc, everything working perfect again, hd video no problem, no more jerkiness. So what is it I'm doing wrong with the new gfx card?

Sounds driver-ish to me. You using drivers on the install CD or off the web? Beta or official? Try just the card with the old card's drivers. New systems are so much fun.

Used the drivers off the install cd, I noticed the nvidia drivers I downloaded for the old card (as I'd long since lost the install cd for that card) were newer, but do drivers really affect the cpu usage etc. that much?

Since putting the old card back in it's running smooth as silk again, so at least I know it's not the new copy of windows or the new psu or hard drive at least. I really don't want to have to return this card as I was looking forward to playing Arma 3 etc., and it was my little treat to myself. little P can not haz nice thingz. :(

Ok after spending all day trying to get this p.o.s. working, it turns out even though my motherboard should be fine, for some reason this chipset doesn't work. Great. Well f*** you Nvidia, and f*** pc gaming. I tried to get back into it but once again it's proved to be such a pain in the ass it's given me a bloody headache! And people wonder why consoles took over... This is living proof that pc's are a royal ball-ache to get working unless you've got pots of money to throw at them or a degree in electronics. And even if you've got them there's still no guarantee it'll bloody work. Pissed right off. Returning this piece of shit and spending the money on beer. You know where you are with beer. :(

Fucks sake.

No no no no no no, you have the wrong video drivers. They are different for different chipsets, one NVIDIA Driver does not do them all.

You need to dl and install the Drivers for your new card and completely remove all traces of the existing video drivers from your system.

But I installed the drivers from the cd that came with the gfx card... On a clean install of windows... and the ones I downloaded for the GT430 were the ones it tried to update me to in the first place... I think... I don't know. I'm so fatigued with it all :(

What's worse is I tried to see if Arma 3 would work and I got an error and it won't start. FML.

Don't use the drivers with the install disk either, go to NVIDIA and dl the proper drivers for your card and your system and only install the video driver; not the sound driver, not Nvidia Experience, auto updater and all that other crap.

I see what your saying, but it gives me the EXACT SAME DRIVER whether I select the gt430 or the 650ti from the drop down menus...

[h=1]GEFORCE R320 GAME READY DRIVER[/h]

[h=2]Version:[/h][h=2]320.49 [SUP]WHQL[/SUP][/h]
[h=2]Release Date:[/h][h=2]2013.07.01[/h]
[h=2]Operating System:[/h][h=2]Windows 8 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit, Windows Vista 64-bit[/h]
[h=2]Language:[/h][h=2]English (UK)[/h]
[h=2]File Size:[/h][h=2]218 MB[/h]

Can I take out my GT430 and put in my 650ti without deleting and re-installing drivers, just to give it one last go?

You can try it but I don't think it will work without re-installing the driver. I ran into this exact problem when installing my 670's as they flat out would not work unless the previous drivers were completely deleted and then installed with the new card in.

...and I was just going from a 570 to a 670.

When you say this exact problem did it max out your cpu and cause stuttering when installing or doing anything, and overheat?

p.s. fixed Arma 3. I'm so 1337.
