Recommendation for a good Spitfire simulator?

Hi all, I had a quick google but nothing conclusive so thought I'd ask the fine flight sim enthusiasts on here...

Well, as in the title, what is in your opinion the best Spitfire simulator?

I'm not that interested in combat, I just want to indulge in the fantasy of flying one of these fantastic aircraft as they mean so much to me and my country.

I'm imagining I'm flying as part of a display etc. so taking off and landing etc.

Good graphics are a must, in fact, what flight sim out there has the best graphics? Plane models and scenery etc.

Your only real option is either IL2:Cliffs of Dover (and make sure to patch it) or FSX with one the many Spitfire addons. Some point next year DCS:World will have several added.

I've just bought Cliffs of Dover, currently downloading on steam

Got it for about 8$ in total from G2A

Great shout, I'll check IL-2 out, I haven't played that since the original Sturmovik days circa 2001!

Umm.... ok. Cliffs of Dover is interesting... :/

Does anyone else get awful juddering of the scenery? Seems like no matter the settings it is juddering around, and the tutorials are a little... confusing.

Did you update CloD with the fusion patches?

I am not sure if i had the same experience as you on regular clod, but to me it seemed as the 109 i flew in blew a rod and started shaking violently.
That did cause major problems for the visuals.

Anyway, i'll finish my smoke and keep my fingers crossed that the splitting headache won't come back now.
And after that i'll set you up with some links bruv!

This has a guide and all the required patches to run the game way beter than Ubi has ever envisioned.

Yeah, it needs to be updated with the Team Fusion patches. Stock the game is completely broken.

Oh wow it's a different beast altogether now! Looks absolutely beautiful and runs fantastic with max. settings and x2 DSR.

My first attempt at landing went really well I thought! Ground control seemed to agree, apparently I was "safe on the ground" :lol:

New prop and she's ready for another sortie ;-)

Anyway, with the game being up to date we should have a bit of fun trying some coop practice, and perhaps even stream it

Definitely, although gaming time is getting short for me in the run up to Christmas. But I would 100% be up for some practice on TS! Just not sure when I can get on, it will be a case of if you are on I'll jump in and ask if you wanna fly etc. if that's cool

Yeah no problem!
It's going to take some fiddling from my side, because with the many flight Sims i've been in lately it's hard to actually get "used" to a flight model.

I just hope we have sufficiënt Emergency services around our area of operations
