I haven't been here in quite some time, after having only really posted a "Hey old Wolf Servers folks" type message but...

...I'm been blindsided by nostalgia! Someone has developed C&C: Renegade using Unreal 3, and holy damn is it good. A love letter to us old die hard fans, and it's FREE FREE FREE!

I've been playing a little, and I suck. But it is so much fun.

Anyone here from the old day of 'that place which shall not be named'?

Nostalgia is a powerful force indeed. The mod looks good, how do the multiplayer servers hold up?

They play pretty smooth actually, I'm impressed. I don't have the best computer or internet connection, and I had no lag on a 36 player server!!!!

The graphic upgrades are nice, and you can finally play first person! There are even a few new bells and whistles and new maps.

At least fun for some nostalgic Flame Take rushes, no?

You should. We should all try and have at least 1 reunion game! They really did a stellar job updating the graphics, and the gameplay is still great.

No game has even attempted the Base defense aspect of Renegade, to my knowledge.

Thanks guys! I found Mr. Ahmed over at the official Renegade Forums. And I'm going to try and get evil csmu to join in!

The appeal may wear thin quickly, but man I'm having fun with the nostalgia right now. There are some neat little additions (like being able to surf vehicles...6 man gunner rush on a Chinook anyone?).

Of course, being a work and family man, my gaming hours are still fairly 'late night' as they were in the olden days of yore. I will usually be available from 10:30 on most weeknights and weekend nights.
