Season 3 2015 Schedules

One thing that always bugs me about these things... why is it a downloadable pdf? Why can't I just view it in my browser??

My thoughts:
GT3 looks fun.

V8 has quite a few repeats... getting to be stupid running bathust, Philip Island and oran season after season. Monza grand prix is on there again, as is zolder alternate, Sebring intl., and montreal.

Actually it is easier to list what is new... Spa, Oulton, Laguna Seca, the Glen. Absolutely ridiculous in my opinion. Eight tracks are the same...

Daunt, I agree :p

But more importantly:
- LEGENDS AT LIME ROCK PARK!?!?!?!
- Aston Martin GT1 all by itself?? WTF?!
- GT3 at LRP? Oh boy oh boy
- a SINGLE 70min IMSA race on stoopid roval nobody cares about?

Overall, not that impressed.

Wait I forgot to check gt1... Really? Are they pulling what they pulled with the v8s? Release the Commodore and take away the falcon? Cash grab?

No, Aston is running with the Corvette:

The GT1 schedule will have the Aston Martin and Corvette in it. Corvette not showing because a change needs to be made in the DB

Did anyone notice this was in the OP of the linked thread regarding changes upcoming to the next season:

All seasons that have qualifying sessions attached to race sessions will have dynamic weather.

Preliminary schedules have been announced. An interesting change is that the Ruf Cup is being changed to fixed. Their community is not happy about this at all, so it might be changed.
I really don't know why iRacing is so intent on screwing with things when they don't need to be touched?

I can't remember one time someone complained about the Ruf Cup being an Open Setup? It's a perfect time to learn a bit about setups as your fresh out of D License and have enough driving experience to benefit from small setup changes.

It's a terrific series the way it is and still remains one of my favorites even now.

iRacing please for the love of God, don't mess with things that don't require messing.

...

I'm inclined to agree with you on V8's Kyle but I think my issue with V8's is overall it's really not that fun of a car to drive.

It does look and sound cool though!

Nah V8s might not be as nimble as a lot of the other cars, but they create some of the best racing, and it is overall a great community behind the series. And that racing it creates is very hard to duplicate in other cars... the side-by-side almost NASCAR-like racing it creates on road circuits make it extremely fun, and I love the challenge.

Still though, I'll be looking to try out GT1 next season for obvious reasons.

Good video. I can't wait until we drive about on it.
I wonder how they got the aerial point clouds. Think they used a helicopter with a depth camera or something? That would be really hard to stitch together into a complete picture though. Or maybe their camera is so high above the track that it can record all the topography on the side as well.

I think it would have to be some sort of fly over, their cameras don't get that high. I'd imagine they'd do something similar to how they map the bottom of the ocean. Fly a plane really low and just do it in sweeps. Good question though.

Is anyone currently racing any GT3 this season? The schedule is absolutely fantastic and I want to get in on some more GT3 action this season, if not just for the extra 7 credits. Picked up the BMW last week and love it.

I've done 2 races at Zandvoort. Absolutely loving the facelifted Ford and I've already had some close calls and races. Car is amazing.

Now that I have no MPR to worry about I've been putting my time into GT1. I've been looking for a change of pace from GT3 and I just love the feel of the Aston, it's amazing.

The Aston is the first car that I've been in at iRacing (or any game for that matter) that actually gave me a moment where my senses were tricked into believing I could be in a real car.

...and all that happened was a very slight loss of grip mid turn at slightly too high of speed. The sensation of loss of grip was exceptionally light but translated beautifully through the G27.

I don't know if it's the new tire model or the car itself but if my eyes were closed I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference in that one instant.

I will have to take a look at the GT1 schedule. Either or, I would like to race a bit more.

Great to see iRacing's hard work is really showing though. Now for just a bit better graphics and sound... doesn't have to be Pcars stunning visuals.
