Hey, who has this game and what servers are you on?

I see on my origin list that 4 people have it but it doesn't tell you which server you're playing on and I just cannot find a game with a zone with a free city slot.

I decided to pass until all the bullshit is sorted out.

Also, I'm not sure I like the "small city" aspect of it. I don't want to be forced into playing with other people!

You're not forced but its allot easier to play with others; the problem I've found is actually finding a game with a free slot or starting my own game, making it public and having people join it. Its like the whole filtering system for finding players is broken.

There does seem to be a very fine line between being solo and then having to play with another person. Cities seem to get to a certain population and then need some kind of support from a neighbor i.e. they need more water or trading recycled resources etc. The alternative is to always make more cities yourself to support these needs.

Its a fun game though but I just wish I could find a other people to play with and not in Sandbox mode.

I've got this game as well. For some reason it put me on US4 or something.. I think because the EU servers were full. No biggie really, you can easily change between the servers.

I'm only in for a few hours so far, started my own 'private' region. Haven't tried multiplayer yet though. How far are you in so far Mondo?

Perhaps we could make a 'private' Fragtard region? Make it a little easier to join a mp-game. I know d000k has this game as well. Anyone else that has it?

They're actually a bit of a pain in the ass to run if you're the only city, the easiest way to make a shit ton of cash instantly is through mining, then making alloys; then you make the casino town!

That never works because all they do is complain about the smell and land value plummets. Mind you, I haven't played all the maps so maybe you've tapped into one where the resources are downwind.

My Casino town is self sufficient and has done way better than my trade town in much less time. Of course I plopped the Casino's right next to 2 Ferries/Cruise Ship Docks.

I also put in an airport with 3 runways and about 1/4 of the city has trolleys.

In fact the town is so busy that the freeway is completely backed up with traffic trying to get in. It's so bad I had to add Hospitals and Garbage removal as Ambulances and Garbage/Recycling Vehicles could not make it from one city to the next quick enough to stem the moaning.

...I will say though that Casino Cities sure consume a lot of power.

Lastly, is it just me or is the town size ridiculously limiting?

Yeah, the size is daft, I've probably done 10 cities but the only really good ones are with populated maps. It gets to a point where they're interdependent, especially for Water and sewage.

Re the mining, it doesn't pollute that much, no where near as much as standard low tech industrial or fossil power stations. The only problem is as you describe, you need a boat and train access otherwise the city road entrance gets blocked and nothing get sold.

D00k, what server are you on? I'll come and join you.
