Due to the influx of bots and 1 post wonder public and profile link spamming, I'm forced to publicize our official Spam Policy.
It's in your best interests to read and understand this short policy as trying to circumvent it will result in your details submitted to external spam databases, specifically Akismet and StopForumSpam.
For those of you failing registration (there are many), it's due to your details already listed in the aforementioned spam databases, flagged by our Spam Trapper and refused access by Administration.
...and, having new details bypassing these security layers is of no use to you either.
Posting or attempting to post an offsite link of any kind WILL flag your post.
Your post is held in a Spam Queue and moderated by a human. In most cases, your content is denied and details shared with both Akismet and StopForumSpam. This may negatively impact your ability to register at other Communities online so please do not violate this policy.
If you're a legitimate user with good intentions, welcome and thank you for taking the time to register! The only thing I ask is you do not post links of any kind in your first 11 posts on this forum or any other Band of Others databases such as our Blog or Discord.
To all legitimate users, sincerest apologies if this nomenclature comes across as harsh, that is not my intent. Just know, you, as a legitimate user, represent a small percentage of online persona, most are either bots and/or have some level of ill intent.
Reason this language exits; Band of Others has been online for some time now and carries with it some measure of "link juice". This means, links offsite to bad neighborhoods or sites with nefarious intentions counts as a vote for that site.
I WILL NEVER ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN!
As a general rule:
Lastly, I urge you not to try game the system, I've been doing this a long time and you will lose!
If the software doesn't catch you, I will.
If I don't catch you, a member of my extremely competent Staff will.
In the off chance all of us miss you, you'll likely be reported by one of our wonderful Members.
By definition, this is a zero sum game.
Thank you for your understanding.
Sincerely,
Ken
