Good effort by everyone on the Lake House team. For our next event, I hope you guys will let me change the car and the setup at the last minute so I don't have to crash on the opening lap.

As always, super fun race. We had some shit luck in the 488, as tends to happen with our GT teams, but I still had a blast. My license is down to A2.15, but I showed the bus stop who was boss. 95'ish times.

Moment I lied down, I was out for good 8 hours. Had a blast, Radicals tried some radical moves, but I think they underestimated my own radicalism
I see you guys finished in 6th, which is pretty solid I think, considering everything.

Yay, my first 24h race over and the car reached the chequered flag. That was a great weekend.
What else to take away from it? Well, firstly, I damaged the car at the end of my second stint. Went into turn 1 on the inside with a DP on the outside, thinking something like "It will be fine, the DP will get by and I can use the room behind it for breaking"... except the DP never went by and stayed to the right, leaving me breaking while cornering while trying to keep the car on the inside. I panicked a bit, the car started sliding, bumped of the tires at the pit lane and stopped sideways at the end of turn 1. A good part of the field went by, but one other Mercedes netcoded itself into the rear bumper. Looking back at it, this situation could have easily ended far worse than it did, so I need to take more care of avoiding such situations from arising in the first place.
Also, driving in the second split was equally nice and terrifying. It was nice, because (most) drivers seemed to know what they were doing. They didn't really require any attention other than being aware where they are and the occasional throttle lift to avoid unnecessary awkward two wide situations going into corners. It was terrifying, because of the pressure to avoid any mistakes, being predictable, and while one or two cars passing by were easy to handle, I also had my fair share of whole mixed packs approaching in the infield trying to overtake each other while trying to pass me. All the while I was thinking to myself "Don't be that slow guy who also starts wrecking people.... just don't...".
Thanks to Marc, Nejt and Noel for all the prep work and thanks to David, Denis and Noel for basically carrying my slow ass through the second split. Thank you all for letting me drive with you.

Thanks to everyone for making this a really fun event! I even managed a full nights sleep in between my stints although I still didn't know if i was coming or going by Sunday afternoon
Really happy with our 6th place in the DP too so another big thanks to Ken, Jes, Dino and Davey for doing a superb job

Speaking of that, could we run Bathurst in league next week? I show the race as February 10 - 11. BSS is at Watkins Glen this week, Jose Carlos next week and Bathurst the last week of the season (odd). Would it make sense to switch Jose Carlos and Bathurst and do Bathurst next week particularly since Bathurst is GT3s (and Porsche Cup)?
Also, thoughts on Merc vs. Ferrari? Ferrari probably gets through the corners better but will be overtaken on straights and may have trouble on the high curbs. But Merc likely won't get through the corners as well.

Deb, the Bathurst 12 Hours is actually the week after, but we will definitely take your advice and swap Mt. Panorama to the night before the iRacing Bathurst 12 Hour. It will be replacing another Australian track, Oran Park, and I don't think anyone is going to miss that as much as they would miss Interlagos. Also, Oran being Oran, I doubt anyone will be too interested in making up that week, so we might slot Nurburgring in as the season finale (to make up for missing this week), or hell, run Bathurst twice this season. I doubt anyone would complain either way...

Would have posted yesterday, but I was so determined to stay awake all day that I sat at my pc like a zombie, possibly drooling, staring at Youtube videos until I finally went to bed at 10p and slept for 11 hours! Great job @Brainling for carrying the car for as long as you did. Nice job to @Deb for continuing to be such a bright voice on the team, in and out of the car, and for being the only person who anyone ever listened to about pitting in! (Did you know about us running out of fuel, again?
) @reid Great stints, and congrats for doing a better job than anyone else at keeping the car on the racing surface! @Bedo Tough first stints, with things piling up on you a couple times, but it was good too see you shake it off and come back and have much better stints in the night, and again at the end! Pleasure driving with all of you!Congrats to the other teams on their runs, and thanks for keeping me awake through-out the night! Being in a separate channel was imperative at the start, but it was great to be able to come back into the same channel as things calmed down and the race settled in, especially through the night hours!

The joined channels were essential during that run where you and I were in the car for 8 hours Marc. Having the banter and people to talk to was essential to keeping me awake and focused. Had we been off in our own room just quietly driving during that period I would have started nodding off on the oval.
That second fuel blunder was pretty funny. The Bedo one was an honest mistake, where I just didn't yell loud enough...Marc running out of fuel was just he and I being tired idiots and blathering away as he goes by the pits, after having just confirmed it was time to pit.

Great effort by everyone. As with the previous endurance events, it was mucho enjoyable with such a fun group.
A big big thanks to @Skid_Marc_ , @Duke , and @Noodleguitar for the coordination efforts put in to make this a great event.
I'm really looking forward to Bathurst to see what kind of shenanigans we can get up to in TS again. Thanks to everyone for making this such a memorable experience.

Not a bad start for the Endurance year I think. We had 3 full teams in 3 different splits and cars and we all got a decent finishing position. I still think the driving standards in the second split were not up to par but I probably would have thought the same for the first split. Thanks to everyone involved for achieving something very difficult -- making 800+ laps of Daytona entertaining!
@ShadniX , I forgot to do it as well during practice but what I normally think really helps is to practice one or a few laps of out-of-line driving. By that I mean a few laps where you drive only on the inside line for example, and a few laps of driving only on the outside line. That should kind of give you an idea of braking points and sketchy scenarios for when you have no choice but to drive there during the race, in traffic. Other than the one whoops I think you did really well for your first big race (in 2nd split).

The width of each bar is a little misleading, because each bar represents the laps between pit stops, and after or before a crash that might not be a full stint. I see a lot of variation in lap time for the C7 team which is interesting as you were getting tires every stop. I want to compliment Davey here for some fast and consistent stints. What's interesting is that Jes and Ken had pretty much exactly the same median lap time, at 1:40.4. Most of the Ferrari team had really consistent lap times, especially Marc. Three of us in the Merc were really close on average. I would like to point out that Denis was blatantly cheating by taking tires on his second stint, and of course with the millions of off-tracks. Stint 17 seems to be when Denis pitted out and went "the fuck is wrong with my tires?". Apart from Denis and Hans the bars nicely show the drop-off in lap times by skipping tires during a double/double+ stint.
