That was a ton of fun last night and looking forwards to more Squad nights. This is the fps game I've been trying to find for a long time. I could benefit if I had a 1080p monitor instead of my 32'' 720p tv :icon_cheesygrin:

Love the teamwork aspect it's really what wins games instead of a run and gun style. A few bugs here and there but so far good with me.

I'm mostly perturbed however by the fact that after nearly 4 hours of play I still have no idea where to find flagenus?

Oh I was going to mention Davey, you will probably see a noticeable improvement with a better monitor. TV's generally have pretty massive display lag which makes a pretty substantial difference when playing games like shooters. A number of missed shots were probably from that especially if the target is moving.

It is hard to play but manageable for now, I'll be selling some karting stuff in the spring I can get at least 600 for one of my motors and and few hundred more for the chassis so I'm thinking of selling one of the tv's that I have. Works fine for iracing since I have two almost identical tv's one I got for free from work since it was "broken". Hopefully going to upgrade soon. Any suggestions for a 27''?

Any suggestions for a 27''?
If you want to go 27", you need to go 1440p. 1080 @ 27" is unusable IMO, far too low of a pixel density.

For a normal 1440p, I'd recommend something like this: http://www.amazon.com/PB278Q-2560x1440-DisplayPort-Ergonomic-Back-lit/dp/B009C3M7H0/

For a high refresh rate 1440p, I'd recommend this: http://www.amazon.com/Asus-PG278Q-27-Inch-G-SYNC-Monitor/dp/B00MSOND8C

If you want to be a baller and go ultrawide (a 34" ultrawide has the same vertical height as a 27" display, it's just wider) go with either of these (they use the same panel, only difference is the stand/settings menu): http://www.amazon.com/Dell-UltraSharp-34-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00PXYRMPE/ http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-34UC87C-34-0-Inch-LED-Lit/dp/B00Y09G6JG/

I've been using an Asus ROG Swift PB279Q for the last couple of days and it is absolutely brilliant. I'll be writing a review at some point but for now let me say, it is truly a game changer in every sense of the word... instant improvement with accuracy in first person shooters and it's getting better every hour that I'm using it.

In non fps games the clarity is such that in some parts the game looks 3D (Tomb Raider for example). 165Hz and 1440p with G-Sync in an IPS panel is stunning.

I agree with Peeble that at 27" 1080p doesn't look very good; if you want a cheaper 1440p monitor look into the Qnix qx2710 on eBay, I've had that for over two years, it's IPS and it overclocks to between 96 and 120Hz.

However, the rest of the hardware needs to be able to push 1440p at reasonable FPS, otherwise there's no point in going above 1080p. I would then suggest not going above 24" though, especially if you want to play shooters.

With my GPU (gtx 750ti) it's not really going to matter if I get something insane. I use the computer mainly for Iracing and sometimes fps. A 27'' 1080p is fine with me because with my setup. Like I said I'm gaming on a 32'' 720 TV... A 1080 monitor would look crystal clear to me. I don't have a very high budget but I've come to realise the tv's have to go.

While the 750ti is actually a quite decent card, for 1080p I would consider picking up something like an R9 280X, maybe even used, and then a cheaper 24" 1080p TN-panel. That probably sets you back about 300.

Not a bad idea Johnny, I think you guys have convinced me into a couple 24'' displays most likely 1080p. Like I said I'm not trying to go crazy just need a little bit of an upgrade. Thanks for the help and suggestions fellas. :D

I'm really not terribly impressed by this game but honestly I wasn't in the first place which is why I passed on it originally.

When P told me it was a mix of ArmA and BF1942 I was instantly all in but it isn't a mix of BF1942, it's more like ArmA/Insurgency IMHO.

Well that and the Server generously donated got me in but to be completely honest currently I very much regret the purchase at almost Rocket League levels.

For me the fact it's a tactical shooter with no Track IR support is just silly. I wasn't actually expecting it in the first place but I also though it would be a lot more like 1942 which I'm ok with then. There is no head tracking alternatives in the BF Series and I'm fine with it as they're primarily twitch gameplay run 'n gun FPS'.

I'm going to stick with it every Wednesday night streaming at 8PM EST for the next few weeks so if you guys are interested in showing me how wrong my negative impressions are then please join me ingame.

^ It's still early access Duke, maybe TrackIR support might come later? One thing to hope for anyway.

Yeah it's been said a couple of times that they will add it once the animation system is overhauled.

The bf1942 feel comes after a while when you get used to what the squadmates/leaders are talking about during missions.

It's still a very basic version of what's planned. With the addition of new maps, modes and vehicles, the gameplay will change a lot.

I'm still having fun, even when the squadleader isn't leading and i'm forced to go join another squad or go solo.
If you get that run 'n gun instinct toned down you'll notice you will have a lot more opportunities to lay some fire down on enemies before they spot you.

There was no Squad Leader talk beyond the Commo Rose System of calling objectives in the Battlefield franchise. I don't know how you guys can make this comparison? Squad quite literally couldn't be any further away from BF if it tried.

Anyway it's your guys opinion but after thousands of hours in the BF franchise since 1942 came out I just don't see it.

I'm willing to give it more chances however which is what you need to take away from this.

Please get on with me and show me what I'm missing.

It's ok Duke we all knew you wouldn't have the (gn)attention span for this title.

Nah seriously the BF1942 comparison like I said before is not the gameplay. It's the feeling of the game when you are in not only a squad who is all communicating but also when the squad leaders themselves are communicating between each other too. It's the teamplay aspect of it which is just what it was like when we used to be on Hydra's server. This feeling is heightened when the squad is mostly populated with friends.

I don't think from what you've described here and on TS that you've had that experience yet. I didn't for a while either but when I did it made perfect sense. I've had a break from Squad for a bit but I'm more than willing to jump on with you and others if we are going to meet up at a set time and date to work together.

Don't forget this is an Alpha, I've made this clear from the start so drawing comparisons with other released titles with TrackIR support is not really fair on the game. There's a lot of content on it's way so it will only get better, for now it's just a barebones experience that happens to be lots of fun (under the above listed conditions).
