I just recieved a mail about the War Z beta.

It seems the closed Béta starts at 30th of October for el cheapo Beta account.
But if you preorder the "regular" edition you can start at Monday the 15th of Oct.

Its just to much of a pay-to-win setup.
Also the fact that you have to buy into the beta is big turn off .

I wasn't terribly impressed by the gameplay video I saw on YouTube to be perfectly honest. I didn't even want to play DayZ originally because Zombie Apocalypse isn't really my thing but DayZ was much more than that, at least in the beginning.

I think it looks better than DayZ but that's only because DayZ is running on a 6+ year old engine.

I can't get past the feeling that a lot of people are going to buy it because of their experiences in DayZ and end up disappointed in the game. I don't know why I feel this way but I just don't think it's going to be the same experience and end up just being a meh Survival Horror.

I'm also bogged down in the gaming department with Guild Wars 2, Borderlands, and will be picking up Dishonored so there's just no room for this game.

Ya i just checked my email too...got the same email as dukester.... i dunno...I like the fact that DayZ in the begining was great... the team work....comadre... the hours sneaking around axing zombies... crusing around in the UAZ.. bikes, the convoys to new locations. I have played BF type games for awhile now, this was a refreshing change. I like the fact of playing against other players. it was all good until the script kiddies showed up, and yes killed the game for alot of people... but i look forward to a new Dayz standalone with hopefully a better batteEye or whatever, I am not sure about the WarZ beta.. first time i have ever seen apay for beta.... but we'll see....

I know I've been MIA for the most part but i have to post, I AM a legend holder, i was in the alpha before it was opened up and I feel this game will be great and with having a legend pack i will have a stonghold server for us fragtards that will be ingame for 6 months, but i wont be using it right away, fallen got pioneer so we will use his for the first month. I will keep you all posted on this and i hope to see you around some more, damn school is kicking my ass around the block lol.

Ps. The dead linger WILL be a much better game, but it will take another year + to get there.

From what I understand, pre=paying for the beta gives you full access to the game though, so surely its more like just getting the game early?

Ive sat and watched the game play footage, Firefluffy wont shut up about this game, seriously the rate hes going he'll put me in labour!

Im still umming and arring about it, I enjoyed DayZ but I got bored of it before the scriptkiddies hit the scene hard.It was just too repetative for me. I also didnt like the control functions. No matter how I set up the keys I couldnt find a comfortable way of playing.

I'll probably let firebubble get it pre-order if I can scrap together the money, but I'll wait a bit longer till I have the funds for it...plus...tbh Id much rather buy CoH2...however I kind of need to buy a basinett before the baby shows up!

I'm not sure Quicksilver.

Theres two ways to play, Hardcore which is essentially like DayZ, when you're dead you're dead. And Normal mode, in which even when you die your character is locked out from play for 24 hours. And you only have 5 character slots max. I think the fear of being locked out from play for 24 hours after 5 deaths will keep a lot of the pure deathmatching down.

Its like a mash up of Chernarus, Taki and Lingor.

I still likely won't pick it up unless people around here are blown away with it. I'm already planning on picking up DayZ stand alone along with Assassins Creed 3 so I don't have the money (or time) for anything else.

I still haven't gotten to Level 80 in Guild Wars 2, not even close to finishing Borderlands 2 and have only briefly explored the world of Dishonored.

We can have our "special forest time" in DayZ stupid. :icon_cheesygrin:
