The War Z

With so many people playing DayZ, I thought this upcoming MMORPG for PC called The war Z might be interesting. Think DayZ within a RPG setting. It might first strike you as a stand alone DayZ clone, but according to the developers they have been working on it before DayZ got started on.

I saw this video on the weekend and I'd be lying if I didn't say I'm not terribly impressed so far. I think I was expecting to see a lot more out of it than what was highlighted in that video.

I do think the game itself looks better than Day Z but that's to be expected as Day Z is running on a 6 year old engine now. That being said, there was definitely texture swapping issues in the nearby trees which you would think wouldn't be an issue, even in Alpha.

They really should have released a better trailer highlighting teamwork, enemy players or agro or something. Most of the YouTube Vid's I've seen from Sacriel are far better than this video was IMHO.

Ya very true.

It almost looks like their making it into a shooter which just isn't going to work IMHO. There has to be some sense of paranoia which DayZ has in spades.

I guess the ganking is part of the alpha, i remember Fireblade logging in and get ganked as soon as he joined.
I guess we just have to wait for the 30th and see if a non kiddie crowd shows up.
