Whats up, do you Gents play ArmaII, IL2 and is COD now playable after new patch relaesed 18.10-2012

I know the guys are playing ArmA2 pretty regularly but as for IL2 I'm not sure that's really in the loop anymore?

I'm personally picking up ClOD this week because I found it on Amazon for $20 but I'm a little disappointed there seems to be no sound mods as of yet.

There's also been some rumblings about perhaps getting together now and again on a weekend and having a fly or what have you but so far we've only done that once.

...so wait for someone else to answer because as far as I can tell, all I've done is muddy the waters in my response

And another suggestion: save the 20$ until we had our coop test flight. Single player content is _very_ lacking. I invested 60 EUR for single player campaigns made by a German team, but CloD is so porked, they are no fun, even though they are very well made.

Stupid ai (friendly and enemy), lots of missing radio commands, all radio commands for attacking targets not working, disappearing contacts at certain distances and so on.

I've actually been watching videos on it and although they are better, there still the same computer generated garbage they were in IL2; or at least that's how they sound on YouTube.

I really want to fly a Spit that sounds like a Spit and a 109 that sounds like a 109.

I will wait to see how you guys feel about the most recent patch before I buy though. I have to admit it's killing me a bit because I really do want to fly :icon_confused:

Hi GA, nice to see ya ARMA2 is a regular event on Tuesdays and we're planning on revisiting IL2 46 with the new HSFX 6.17 mod which is good and have an autoupdater. CoD is usable after the last patch with some annoying bugs still present, one of them beeing the comms with AI and ground control that doesn't work properly. One major thing is that all missionbuilders has waited for this last patch so there really isn't any coops out that is flyable for us! I have RoF aswell to play with and that is a great sim and also DCS World is coming of age really nice. Lets have a go at any of the above anytime mates And for the Duke, as Wotan said, wait for the verdict

The best sound of a Merlin I have heard in any sim is the Pony in DCS. Here the sound is spot on. A very good sim of the P-51D and albeit it lacks in WW2 content, it now has stable coop play. I would love to have that one adopted by the Vikings :icon_cool:

That would be epic! I've really been wavering on the P-51 addon but haven't because I don't really like the P-51 lol. That being said, it looks and sounds awesome and I'd love to see how it flies.

I really hope DCS gets their "World War II" going with more planes and more stuff to do. In that case it could easily be our new sim of choice regarding squadnights.
As it stands at the moment IL-2 is still the one sim we all have and it's patched and modded and thus "lives". MY problem is that I really don't have the time for two events pr. week as of now and only seldom in the weekends.
If someone else would host the squadnights and weekend-events I could probably join once in a while every full moon or something

My internet connection on 4G wireless has normally a ping of 30 in europe and 120 in the US with a dl of 30 MB and ul of 10 roughly. Should be enough to host. However I have a bit trouble pinpointing exact days!

Well, in the beginning I guess any day would do, as long as it is announced a few days in advance (maybe even a week).
If you need to test your host setup I'll try to help out any day - or we could do a test before or after an event on a Tuesday

A test before a ARMA event should be ok. Those events tend to be late and it's a pita to get up at 0500 after those events

Yup. The quickest test is probably if you try to host our Arma-server then.
I'll be on TS some minutes earlier tonight so we can do a quick test while the rest of the people "fall in line"
