X-wing and Tie Fighter coming to GOG.com

That's right, folks. The best space combat sims of the 90s are returning to your computer for $10 each, courtesy of Good Old Games.

If they ever release either X-wing Alliance or X-wing vs. Tie Fighter: Balance of Power, I'd LOVE to get a group together and play through missions alongside y'all.

To be clear, $10 gets you both the "CD-Rom" version of the games from around 1993-1994, and the "Collector's Edition" remastered version that uses the X-wing vs. Tie Fighter engine (which means texture mapping and 3D graphics, rather than goraud shading).

I'm going to dig my joystick out of my box-o-computer crap in the basement and get on this.

Haha, yeah, I forgot about the Emperor's Hand tattoo you could get. I thought it went beyond that, too, like The Emperor's Will or The Emperor's Foot or The Emperor's Halitosis (you KNOW he has it).

One other thing. Looks like the versions of the games are the FLOPPY DISK versions for DOS, and the '98 Windows versions. This means there's no CD version for either X-Wing or Tie Fighter (which makes me wonder whether they have the Enemies of the Empire expansion in the floppy version...). No news yet on whether GOG will add those to the package, but one can hope, since many treat those as the definitive versions of each game.
