Why I won’t be buying Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2Well the news is out, Red Dead Redemption 2 is officially in the works and currently slated for a Fall 2017 release.

As exciting as this news is to many, I could actually care less given there won’t be a PC version.

Now, so as not to incite a debate over PC vs Console my reasoning isn’t “PC Master Race” oriented. In fact I don’t even subscribe to this ridiculous mindset, we like what we like and there is no right or wrong in it.

My problem exists solely because a once PC conscience Developer has turned its back on this long-time demographic.

What’s funny in all this is I have the means to play Red Dead Redemption 2 on my PS4 but seriously, screw that. The ONLY reason I purchased the PS4 in the first place was to play (or be played by) The Last of Us.

Unfortunately Naughty Dog is a Sony owned property so the only way to play this work of art was to purchase a console. Having said that, it was worth it and I’d do it again!

…but Rockstar is not a developer tied to any one console and can easily bring titles to PC, they just choose not to.

Why would I ignore that fact given I’m a PC Gamer (-1 title).

I know it sounds ridiculous to pass on what may be a truly great game but honestly it’s about voting with your wallet and I’m voting NO!

I’m sorry Rockstar but you’ve clearly turned your back on PC and since PC is my hardware of choice it’s time I walk away.

I’ve already purchased 2 versions of GTAV, one for the 360 and one for PC, and not felt value in that decision so there’s no way you’re getting my coin this time around.

What do you think, am I being a Drama Queen here or do you actually see a point in any of this?
