BF4... being a BF3 premie

Please, we've been friends for a long time, just post something useful next time instead of giving me grief about my outdated hardware.
Hey fucknuts, you're the one that posted the thread about your 6 year old computer and had the questions. And now I'm the asshole because I mentioned the obvious; that your pc won't play BF4 worth shit?

*hugs everyone* feel better guys? Anyway the BF4 Beta is unplayable for me ever on low settings. And I hit the recommended specs right on the nose. It's apparently a known issue. something to do with hyper threading and CPU load. Anyway :( guess I'll just sit around till they fix it.

If you're using NVIDIA hardware you may want to roll back your video drivers to 320.49 WHQL.

I tried the BETA drivers and the last WHQL's and had stuttering issues but moving to these drivers pretty much fixed that issue.

Thanks to Smack for the suggestion.

I'm not allowed to give out suggestions or advice because I have a good computer and that makes me a pompous ass!

:sniffles:

Well the driver roll back helped a little. But there's still something not right. No matter if my vid settings are on low or auto (which puts it all on ultra). I get 30 fps give or take. I guess it's at least playable now.

Your computer has little to do with the fact you're pompous.

Actually, you're not pompous at all, you're just a big smack tard.

...hey now I know why you picked the name, you were being ironical.

NICE!

That's close to what many are getting.

Trust me, you're actually average to slightly above in this BETA with the performance you're getting.

Odd , installing the latest nvidia beta drivers(331.40) did wonders for me .
It ran terrible on the latest reccommneded drivers even on the lowest settings , and after installing the beta drivers and tweaking the graphic settings a bit it runs smooth as butter .

I've heard this isn't the latest build of the game but a few builds back because of consoles.

Of course I've not seen anything official on the matter but it makes sense given it takes so bl00dy long to approve any kind of change on console.

How GTA 5 is managing to update so quickly is beyond me, they must be spending a fortune or blowing the right people?

Bunch of schoolgirls lol Just to be clear my asteroids comment was referring to the fact it looks like even with an 00ber pc you can't run BF4, so we may as well play Asteroids, at least we can all play that... Put your handbag away dear! I haven't even bothered trying it to be honest, I'm still wrapped up in the warm murderous embrace of GTA. Agreed Duke, getting a title update that quick is unheard of on 360. Glad they did though :)

My point was if im getting 30 fps on mostly ultra I shouldn't be getting the same on low. I'll try the beta drivers later tonight after class. (Yes class on a Sunday does suck).

Somehow the image of Ninja holding a giant spoon , making circular motions comes to mind ....

You, you were moaning, you always moan about something; it's part of your charm :)
>smooch<

Back at ya, pal.

I don't know about the heavier hardware requirement because the game is in BETA and still has optimization left to be done. My framerates may be a little lower than B2K so if you could play that expansion then you can probably handle BF4 (at least so far).
I gather the hardware stuff is still up in the air. Guess we'll see how it shakes out. i'll be out of the country for the BETA's run, though, so I won't get a chance to play it and test stuff.

Recon has been bumped in many areas especially now that they can carry C4 and have better motion tracking gear as well as range finders. Their also able to use a much larger variety of weaponry than ever before making them much more effective on the Battlefield.
Sounds like they're basically back to what they were in BFBC2, which, to my way of thinking, was a fantastic design for the class. They were too "passive spotter + sniper" in BF3. In BFBC2 you could play aggressive recon, move with your team, keep tossing motion trackers ahead, slap C4 on vehicles and walls and stuff, etc. On the whole, once they finally ironed out all the wrinkles in balance, I thought BFBC2 was pretty much the best balanced multiplayer FPS I've played, so it's nice to hear they'er working the classes back in that direction.
